I was gifted a big Great Dane zero turn ,after over 500$ in parts I've got a pretty good mower to mow 5 acres. Cuts my time cutting it in over half took me many hours on a old ,1968 snapper rider.
Funny, my first zero turn was smaller than my rider, but cut the time in half... Thanks for watching!!

You lucked out! Zero turns that size usually run at least 3k. I suggest you opt to modify the muffler, almost all the mowers with efi have major restrictions in the muffler that start showing up after about 200hours or so of use. Just bust the media out the pipe with a piece of rebar and dump it out if nothing else, you can also quiet it down a lot by adding some muffler wrap, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to weld on a bit longer tube to get the hot exhaust a little further out the back and away from the engine. (Even on small engines it will improve performance (very slightly) and increase engine life the more you improve cooling and airflow.) Overall, you got yourself a great mower regardless so treat it well!

The front pivot points on the mower deck are real bad about freezing up. Best thing to do is apply some heat to them while you're trying to get the grease to go in and maybe use a air powered or electric powered grease gun that can develop some really high pressure. Once you get infried grease and very regularly because like I said they're really bad about getting dirty and freezing up. As for the belt, it's 12ft long, not hard to string but expensive ($88 on line, $150 from dealer). Bad design, rock the deck front to rear to much and belt comes off. Also check the pivot points on the deck mounting strut arms. They are greasable but if worn to much will also allow the deck to rock front to rear to much

Cool mower
Very nice for a free zero turn. I have never seen a mower with a kickstand. I have a John Deere S240. I had the same problem with the deck belt the first time I removed the deck. Since then I have taken photos, and I drew a belt routing diagram which I keep on the wall in my garage.

you got a great mower for free....you even have the 200.00 add on "EZ-Stand"....worth a repowered engine anytime anywhere, even if you have to replace the hydro unit...the Zmaster 6000 is the machine! but that isn't the engine oil reservoir, thats the hydro oil reservoir! the oil to use as you said is correct but not for the engine....and you have to be in the seat with the parking break engaged to be able to start it...FYI I have a like new "Tri vac" bagger system for that very mower! its a 3000.00 option but will let it go for reasonable offer...the TurboForce deck is also the cats ass, this mower has been a favorite to lawn companies for years....
Hey chud great find man thats awesome!! I just recently aquired a john deere 201z with 109 hrs on it! Freeeeeee!!!! Needed a battery and clean the carb. Needs a deck pulley and a belt. Its to nice to hack on so im selling it. I would love to see you convert a z turn into a rubber track unit. In one of your older videos i saw where your friend turned a bobcat z turn into a tank with some old tractor tire treads, Running over palm meadows and bushes. There aren't a ton of videos online about it. Now who wouldn't wanna see a tank added to the collection?! Im still on a mission to build my own

I know you said both sides of the exhaust is hot, but it only exits out the right side , so it’s gonna be hot on both sides of the left cylinder if firing. Up until the very end of the video it sounded weak. Like one cylinder is not firing. Fire it up and let it idle, pull a plug wire off and see if it dies. I think it’s still got little miss to it. Heck of score though! I’ll trade you my Great Dane Chariot! Haha
Yeah, I had only ran it a few seconds and they were both hot, will do more testing and tuning soon. thanks for watching and I am not sure what a Great Dane Chariot is, but I can imagine.

Amazing the things some people will give away. Even the scrap metal value is a decent amount. Comparable machines cost $10k or more

That was a great find. Has a kawi motor on it I think you can fix that drift when it's in "park/neutral" position with a hydro linkage adjustment . (I'm sure you have figured that out you always do )
A Kawi would have been a great improvement, however sold it to buy more stuff for the channel. Thanks for watching.

If you replace the belt get a kevlar belt, the more expensive but mine lasts almost 600 hours

The clog in the oil dipstick tube was a mud daubers nest made from dirt or mud.

@@chud327 the motor sounds like it's struggling though, even at idle. Sounds a bit lean. Douche the carb with carb cleaner and sea foam the shit outta it

I just got a Husqvarna 24 horse power with a 48 inch deck I put new plugs and a air filter and a new battery and it looks and runs like a new mower

Engine definitely sounds like valve train issues and low on power. My Kawasaki engine would act like this with a bent push rod.

How’d you get those Chevy wheels on the trailer?
The Chevy wheels were 5x5 lug pattern and so was the trailer. I was happy when I discovered that they would fit. The wheels and tires went from being useless to a perfect fit. Thanks for watching.
