  • BMW's new styling direction has been, to be gentle, controversial to say the least, especially on some of their new electric offerings. The new 7 series is one of those cars whose styling is the main topic of discussion, even before it has turned a wheel. So does the new i7 drive better than it looks? And can it beat the Mercedes-Benz EQS as our choice of the face of luxury EV motoring? There was only one way to find out, and that was to subject it to the AutoEV roadtest. In this episode Bryan puts over 1,000 miles under the wheels of the new BMW i7 in just a week to deliver the verdict actual car buyers trust when it comes to choosing their next EV - the AutoEV one.
AutoEV - all electric, all independent.

My dad is having issues with Mercedies messing him around with his EQS order.
This may be the perfect alternative.

The adaptive cruise is situated under the 'mode' button on the left of the steering wheel

I tried that but to no avail. It’s an option.

Looks so good but don’t know about the time out to figure out the infotainment screen and having to pay extra for the things that to be honest should already be there.

Why not make the ugly front for CN and let us have a better one. The i4 is already big. But better.
All things considered the 10year back grills were fine enough.
    Massive and impressive car though.

"Fuggly" is the term. And I say that as someone who is awaiting an iX1.
It's really kind of ironic that BMW (and Audi & Volvo ) have embraced oversized radiator grilles just as they have become technically obsolete (engine cooling? What was that?) and aerodynamics the key determinant of range -hence the determinate of how much you have to spend on batteries to have a competitive range. I wonder what things will look like in a decade from now. These grilles will probably look as amusing as rocket fins of a 1950s car or the whale tail of a late eighties sierra RS cosworth

The grill thing doesn't bother me any more. Beyond the sheer size this thing is a winner.

Sorry, but on this one Jonny Smith had it right when he censored the front all the way through his review. The car is ugly, vulgar and unnecessary so it should sell well in the market it’s aiming at.
