Obviously I can’t change it in startup for HD1 to be my default startup drive as I do not have the password. How do I set HD1 as default in order to reset the password? I was solving it! Thank God! I needed to push and hold the power key button until the actual options loading up, (it was 20-25sec withr the M1) and after this, i was checking out the name of the computer, it was a whole different one what i'm using anywhere else, so. This name and my original password and it was working. I changed in the setting in the lockscreen menu, that don't show user, just the name and password only. DON'T DO THIS! this only works if your laptop is not locked by icloud, if not, pressing command + s or command +R will just take you to a login page, need to be more specific bro, no way they forget about this.

I have a 2021 MacBook Pro. Command-S has no effect when I'm booting the computer up. It just goes to the regular Mac login screen.

For me didnt work ,just say me admin and macadmin and when i try to see the paswords the console shows a mesagge like (passwd) illegal attempt -d

Have you ever ACTUALLY done this? If so you would see that -d is not a valid operator for the passwd command.

2. Turn on your computer while pressing Command+R (but Command+S
For old model)
3. You will see command line. Do not be worried.
