Hello. I appreciate the education you provide through your educational videos. I am a podiatrist and was trained to diagnose and treat entrapment of peripheral nerves along with more advanced nerve transfers procedure etc, by Dr. Dellon who educated alot of podiatrists to diagnose and treat such cases. I do not appreciate her tone about "a podiatrist" insinuating he wasn't qualified to diagnose or treat her. I'm personally offended since I am a prescriber of your channel yet a podiatrist.

I wish I had of seen a podiatrist or any healthcare professional who could diagnose and treat chronic ankle instability and sural neuritis. It took 25 years to get correctly diagnosed!

Oh my goodness! I have had this problem for 4 years and been to multiple doctors including orthopedic and podiatrist and they just concluded it was nerve damage/neuropathy! I bought 300 orthotics and nothing has helped! It’s the worst pain I have ever experienced daily! I can only wear a athletic running shoe to minimize the pain! The injury originated when doing CrossFit. What kind of specialist do I need to go to for this and what test will confirm it?

After a fall three years ago, I cracked ribs, tibial plateau fracture, broke and sprained thumb and ankle.
I’m now unable to bend my knee, weight bear, walk and I’ve got foot drop.
Had EMG test which showed nerve damage to sciatic and peroneal nerves.
I’m now diagnosed with Osteoporosis and CRPS aka RSD.
I can’t wear normal clothes, shoes and I’m bed bound.
The CRPS has now spread to the other ankle, foot, knee and leg and the pain is agonising.

No way to fix this without surgery?

Any specialist that is any good will take a while to get an appointment with.

There are many reasons for droop foot. Compressed nerve is a small percentage of them.

    Good Morning,
I have also had foot pain now for over a year and have been to a podiatrist and orthopedic surgeon whom are both inconclusive but would like to do surgery. Initially, I could not think of how I injured myself but it may have been when I fell forward and overextended my foot behind me during a fire drill. I fell on a curb but when I went to the ER they just diagnosed a sprain. My pain is on the outside lateral side of the foot and involves the Brevis tendon and Sural nerve. An MRI from a year ago shows a possible tear. My orthopedic surgeon would like to do ankle stabilization surgery due to my ankle being unstable but I have no pain in my ankle whatsoever. I have chosen to do physical therapy for 12 sessions with good strengthening results and my pain level has come down from an 8 to a 3 at its worst. However, I still experience pain when I use it on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time or turn it outwards too much. What has helped is wearing custom inserts with arch support and Vionic tennis shoes. My pain is a burning pain along the front outside of my foot. I am not sure that stabilizing my ankle would take care of the pain on the side of my foot. Any recommendations are appreciated, Thank you

      An EMG will confirm it.

What alternatives are there if not surgery? My daughter has had this pain for about 12 months now and any suggestions are welcome. She's already had successful to fix the ligaments that snapped and the last thing we want is more surgery.
