Tuomas is currently working on the next Auri album, with plans to tour that late next year. Auri is folk music wit hTuomas , his wife Johanna ,and Troy. And Kai as a session player on the 2nd and this new album. If you want to check Auri out, suggest "Pearl Diving" or "Night 13". 3rd single from Yesterwynde will be "Lanternlight", music video is scheduled for release on Sep 20, along with the album.
Good job! Tuomas said the song is about how all through history governments, politicians and religions have used fear mongering to control people. In the lyrics you'll see all sorts of references to times when civilization was supposedly coming to an end...Y2K, the end of the Mayan calendar, etc. Unfortunately there probably won't be a live version of this anytime soon as they have already announced they will not be touring for this album.

The composer, Tuomas Holopainen, has said that this song is his take against all the fear mongering that plaugues main stream media these days. It's a form of mind control to keep the masses of ordinary people in line with official narratives of the ruling class.
A bit of a new way to go for Nightwish, with the children choir being this much present,, Floor is doing some fast phrasing here to, something like she does in the song Shoemaker, kind off i think.but at same time still very Nightwish sounding,. This song is about leaders, who spread fear in people, religious, political all kind of leaders, they tell that if you dont do it like this, the end is near, and it all bad, but its a lie, the due date have passed many times in history already for these doomsday predictions, so life your life, dont let yourself fill up with fear.. Notice that Floor joins the kids choir at end and connect that to her charecter she is in video, she realize something during video, Toumas said so in a interview i watched.. I didnt read the book 1984 written by George Orwell, but the song got reference to that book i belive. At first listen i needed another listen, at 3th listen the song got me, and i started like the children choir, i actually think its a pretty good song, and something not heard like this from NW before, now i listened to the song many times! I do think Tuomas once again prove he is a master composer, who make lyrics to make you think, and make melodies fitting the theme of the song. This is not a Empuu shine song, there is heavy guitar rhytm in the middle section and end, but not the big Empuu solo, but i also think this song dosent need it, because the Children choir takes spotlight instead,.. The title the day off.. is missing telling what its the day off, so i think this is where you can put in the optimistic view of the song, as a listener, if you like to, and hear the song that way, the listener decide what its the day off. The original idea was this one to be 1st single, because it was a diffrent sound from NW people told Tuomas, this have to be a single, but then Tuomas decided it should be Perfume of the timelees, and this 2nd. I belive a 3th single will be out before album release, being last track on upcoming album, called Lanternlight.

I can imagine SA Vanguard doing this. What a show that would be. Unfortunately, Nightwish will not touring to support this album. I think they all need a break. Plus Floor has so much on her plate. She is doing a whole tour as a solo artist. Another artist I don't think you've reviewed is Dianne van Giersbergen. She is a true spinto soprano and she just released a new song (10/17/24) featuring Marcella Bovio, who you may remember from the Aryeon projects. The song is called Flameborn. It is well worth a listen.

I think all the orchestral and children's choir parts were recorded live at Abby Road Studio in London. That applies to the whole album as well.
