I just got the MV50 Rock and am blown away by it. I expected it to sound like a pedal hooked up to a SS amp, but it doesn't. Not only does it sound like a tube amp, it sounds like a very good tube amp that's been dialed in to perfection. It's voiced more or less like a Plexi, but it has it's own very cool thing going on. Remarkable string definition even with the gain maxed. The line out has an extremely decent cab simulator and it's ridiculously easy to get a great tone for recording. All for $200. I only wish we had had gear like this back when rock wasn't dead.
great video n amp .. but just one doubt .. Do the NUTUBE in this amp need some minutes to be ready for playing like a REAL TUBE AMP or can I just turn it on and start playing immediatly?? I'll appreciate someone reply me .. t-you =)
Finally my bilingual superpower is useful for once! This sounds like a great product with huge potential. Very excited to see these implemented on high-gain amp heads in the future.
I own a Kemper and it's awesome. I recently bought a VOX MV50 Rock and paired it with a 12" Celestion Vintage 30, and I can say, it's awesome. Let me repeat; awesome.
I have the MV50 Clean and the BC108 cab. Plugging an archtop (single coil) into it generates the finest tone I've ever had. No chorus, no reverb, just sweet guitar.
The logical development is an Amp that has the three sounds combined, as different channels plus a reverb and effects loop now that will be worth waiting for, The Blug-amp has this variable ability now in a pedal size unit.but its price and accessories needed are quite weighty.
Must say after trying out the unit we were pretty disappointed, at best it sounded like an average o/d pedal but not as good as the Messa valve pedal thats been around for years, in todays market theres so much gear that does more , like the tech-21 Fly rig, fit the nan-valve to that and wow, good idea but needs more thought as too what its market is.
I was waiting for a video like this that explained more about the NUTUBE! Great stuff. Can't wait to see what else they do with it. I want to see that 3 NUTUBE amp they are working on. Also the headphone amp and rack pre.
I'm very excited about these Nu Tubes and if you find anythimg more about them the pls let me know. I'm thinking of having a multi gain stage amp built so 3-4 channels and boosts for heavy crunch through to searing leads. I love the sound of the Tri-axis and Soldano preamps also the new Hot Rod 25 is just incredible but in the UK they cost as much a a car...almost.
Dear Vox and Korg product managers. I am, as many people, fascinated with this miniature application of vaccum triode (pre-)amplification. To me, the MV 50 Clean would be the prefect product already, IF!!!!! the speaker simulation on the line out would be optional / switchable. Why would you deliberately deteriorate this function of the nuTube amp? Users recording through the line out would want to apply their own speaker sims or EQs, not being confined to the one you have implemented, which does not work well with drive and fuzz! *ARGH*
By now I actually tried it. It sucks tonally at speaker out, but the headphone/line out is better than expected. Proves my theory - nutube should be in PREAMP pedals, people!!!!
@@olivaguitars4926 The Nu Tone Tube Screamer sounds amazing. And in this rare instance, Sweetwater has the best review hearing it compared to the original diode clipping Tube Screamer. Anderton's demo is lousy because of the amp was already with major distortion.

I like how the chief engineers are fairly competent guitarists.
This old Japanese businessman knows more about the essence of guitar than the CEO of Gibson...
i dont even understand what is he talking
Maria Ulfah you can use subtitles function

All those prototypes. Such a tease.
when are you going to create a MV50 metal version?
note that nutube is NOT in pre section,,, but in power section somewhere,,,so all internet reviews are wrong

I'm sure that will come soon.

Thanks for your thoughts @TheAngello120
this is really cool tech. I'm going to pull apart my old VCR and wire it up to an amp speaker. :) lol
Great accomplishment.. the gap is almost closed from traditional tubes...

So on the clean amp if you crank it up with the bridge pickup will it get a nice crunch ?
Stay gold Pony Boy...
Can we please get a collab with Ampeg and have some Nutube SVTs????
I'm down. Send me one so I can review

Sweet MAN BUN!
No explican cuanto dura un tubo Nutube
Some serious looking dudes speaking
Can they us multi stage Nu-tubes for high gain and sound like a Tri-axis? That would sell millions..lol.
He mentions using multiple Nutubes, but as we don't hear the results perhaps it's not ready yet.
