I read the nicci chronicles, and I'm on book 7 of the sword of truth series. It's a shame they changed so much from the books. They really are an incredible tale of Richard and kahlan and zedd and Verna.. My favorite series I ever found
@@ethantomblin7506 they apparently wanted to break it down into stand alone segments and loosely follow the story as told by Goodkind...but for those of us who read any of the series before this show was created can see how butchered it is in comparison.
The book starts out with Richard investigating the death and murder of his father. There was a piece of an odd looking vine left in a jar that was shared between them for messages, this led Richard to the border wall. Richard saw the vine choking the trees at the border and when he went to remove it from one, the vine bit him (thus called the snakevine). While traveling home through the forest he saw Kahlan running down the hill opposite to where he was being pursued by 4 men. He aided her by taking her onto a hidden side trail, but the quad found them.
Richard didn't see Kahlan use her Confessor magic on one of the quad members but that one killed one other with a sword and committed suicide/murder by jumping off the side of the cliff with the other leaving only one for Richard to dispatch. NONE were left alive to go to Richard's brother, nor Chase the Boundary Warden. Richard didn't think Zed was a crazy old man that talked to chickens either, they were longtime friends.
Well, I wont say more. I advise reading the books first instead of watching this series...starting with the book Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind.

Although this is nothing compared to what fantasy can be on tv, this series is pure joy and fun. This pilot is amazing. The chemistry between the actors, the music! Can't believe it has 11 million views! It totally deserves it! And read the books, they're amazing!
The first season was fantastic! The season finale was absolutely epic. Things fell off a bit in the second season though as they moved away from the source material.

@@TheScaper28 I have read the first 2 books and own both seasons and while I agree the books are amazing and they changed the story way too much for the show, the show was still quite good considering it was relatively small budget with not so well known actors at the time.
@@1986kalpa I like the books but only until the 6th one. After that, the series wend downhill for me. Book 7 was a waste and after that I just tried to keep up. They're still worth reading.
I also like the tv series even if people said it was crap. It has very little to do with the books so I like to treat them as two different entities.
Each has its own thing.
I'd say the books are better tho.
I still get chills when I watch the first episode during the intro.
I was so excited for this show to come out. Kmart was still around. That's where I got the first book of the series. Anyways,I would sit there every Saturday or Sunday, can't remember the exact day, but I'd sit there waiting for it to come on.

This is an Amazing fantasy story. A gem on its own. With excellent actors, beautifully crafted about love, couple with a multitude of virtues and values. This is a story about love, sacrifice, loyalty and perseverance. Infused with comedy, action and drama. I give this a score of 10/10. Thank you for sharing this on TH-cam.

I remember watching this when I was maybe 14-15( not 100% sure) and I kept wishing they make more episodes to go along with the books. I’m 27 now and I’ve rewatched this maybes 3-4 times. I still love it and I still wish they continue on with it!
Wow i have the same exact fate as you, i was 11yrs okd when i first watched the whole series but now im 16yrs old and watched the whole series 3times now, still hoping we'd get the 3rd season. What im afraid of is maybe theyre gonna take too long enough that the actors will get too old soon.

Well, it isn't a movie, really. It was a TV series that had 2 seasons. And it gets better and better. I bought both seasons on DVD online. Worth every penny, as I don't know if every episode is available on TH-cam.

It didn't really get cancelled. Both seasons were aired. I believe they were planning to do a third season, but it did materialize.

Instead, read the book series. It's WAY better and there is much more... The audiobooks in particular are really great. Look up Mundum Visum Sword of Truth Series Audiobook

This show is such a nostalgia trip. This and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion got me into classic fantasy in a big way. Looking back, this show wasn’t that great really, but it has a lot of heart and charm that keeps me coming on back.
After Oblivion and EverQuest, I have a hard time really diving in to another game. But, Path of Exile is pretty damn good.

I watched this when it first came out. Missed a few episodes and so glad to find it here. Wish they would do a reboot for it.
I have both seasons on DVD. I love this series. I was sad it ended after just 2 seasons.

I watched this movie the first time in 2009, the first series movie that ever got me glued to the screen, watched it again in 2014 and just came across it here on TH-cam, can never get tired of watching this
I love these kind of movies. When I first saw this one I was hooked from beginning to end and that didn't change one bit. When I first saw Bridget I totally fell in love with her. She is way beyond gorgeous. Those eyes alone are a work of true beauty.
I couldn't watch the show when it first came out because I remembered too many details from the books, but now that it's been so many years I'm loving it!!

Just remember it's the "legend" of the Seeker. I've advised book fans to think of the tv series as either an alternate universe version, or the mis-translated writings of J.
The movie version of The Last of the Mohicans butchered the book, but it's still a great movie.

I love both the show and the books, mainly because I feel like the two are so different, so it's easy to separate the two and not compare them too much.

I loved this show so much, so I decided to read the books. I am just starting chapter 2 of the first book and it is already sooo different. Richard's father has been killed before the book begins, Zedd is already a sort of mentor, and the plant has stung him - all this and he hasn't even met Kahlan yet.
The books are awesome, sometimes frustrating, but awesome. I was 3/4s of an hour into the movie before I realized it was those particular books. I definitely prefer redhead confessors... and there is no way this particular actor, in his current guise, can carry off the depth of Richards book character.

Love this story. The books are awesome. Once I started reading any one of em I couldn't put em down. I've been hoping for a large scale production of this for years. This one isn't that great, but at least they tried. I still liked it. I don't think anyone has ever made a movie that really did the book it was based on justice. Even the LOTR movies left out and skipped a lot of good parts that were in the books. Thanks for posting this movie all the same. Hopefully someone in the movie business will read these comments and make a great adaptation of this series. Hint, hint...(and for those of you who have read the books.., show of hands for who agrees that if you were Richard, you would've hooked up with the Mord Sith... ;). Right??

Never seen this series before, but I have all the hard cover books from Terry Goodkind and read them once a year in the winter time..Excellent books..Million times more enjoyable than any movie..the details and depth of characters is amazing..enjoy..😊 I did watch this movie today and its ok. Not even close to the books but a good round up..
