You know, You're the reason I started Leather work, I use Horween Dublin, I tried others, just nothing that I liked, maybe because I like your work, who knows. But I've learned everything I know from how you do your work. I've made a few purses, None sold, I've only made them as gifts for the girls in my life, but they turn out great.
I am just getting started with leather working and I just discovered your channel. You have some of the best videos on TH-cam. I am very glad I found you!
Arthur, Arthur, where for Art thou Arthur. Missed you my friend. I had to go to rehab since I didn't have my Mascon/Chloe fix. Good to see you and hear that thunderous voice of yours. Great project. Keep those videos coming. Cheers!😃
Read it. Watching how fast you work using those bump jigs with your patterns finally convinced me. I just ordered a set for myself. Great work as usual.
Read it. Cracking video as always. You're all so spoilt for choice with supplies and tools there. Virtually nothing on the list is available for shipping to the UK and there's not a huge amount of stores here. The last few bits I bought, I had to get shipped from Tandy in Spain! Can't even get Barge so I need to find an alternative.
Our “mascon & ZeeBee” tools will ship to the uk. An alternative for barge in a pinch is weldwood cement. Wood glue at lowes? Home Depot? Hardware store? It’ll work.
Welcome back. Was wondering when you would be back with all the great leather work and tips and tricks. Was watching another creator just the other day and they were using the jig methods and thought of you. Once again nice work.

@@MasconLeather heck yea! I'm always looking for new ideas, techniques, and patterns/designs. I'm happy I've come across your channel and will be keeping an eye on it for more! Thanks Again! BTW you have got that burnishing and polishing down to a freaking art! And made me feel dumb for doing measurements and cuts in such a hard way... haha
Great tips about just measuring the patterns once and then using the bump jig to square the material up. I think squaring up is what gets a lot of novice creators. I still like to skive everything by hand and I've gotten pretty fast at it.
F***ing awesome - and with one video you answered my lingering question of how thick is too thick, and completely removed my fears of ever trying it. Beautiful piece as always - went shopping for leather this weekend and the type of leather makes a huge difference in the outcome.

I've been checking your channel for the past 3 months... everyday ( even tho I have the alerts on lol ) hoping the next video was gonna be on what you use ( not pankcake batter, stay tuned lol ) to slick the back of your leather, you always get it perfect. I have absolutely no problems with my edges... I can make my edges look like they are literally coated in glass, but I can't ever get the back of the leather to slick correctly with Tokonole, gum trag or bees wax like everyone "suggests". It also ends up coming unfinished as I work on the project ( and I don't use cheap leathers either). I make my own burnishing cream for my edges... my own cocktail of stuff, but it's not very good for slicking the backs since I sand my edge work with sandpaper ( grits 600 to 3000 ). Anyways, great wallet as always and I'll still be checking everyday for that " not pancake batter video " ... because iam that frustrated with finishing the backs! Thank so much and have a great one
I save cereal boxes now and fillet the card stock from them for projects. Thanks for that tip and all the other stuff you show us. I mostly work with layers of Cordura but some of your ideas can transfer over a bit or be blended with some leather accents.
Great as always Artie, beautiful works of art. What type of Knipex cutting tool do you recommend to remove rivets, snaps, snap buttons from leather that have already been installed and need to be removed? This same tool with which you remove the burrs from the copper rivets is very powerful but perhaps to remove rivets it is less precise. Which one would you recommend?. Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it very much Artire.
Thanks!!!! I was wondering who’d notice that. You’re the first to mention it!!! Occasionally, when dealing with that many layers, as perfect as it looks when first sanding, you see every tiny imperfection after dye. So the first dye shows every tiny flaw. And where it needs more attention. Good eye!!! (Olivia is now on vacation)
Try oiling that leather before using it in the skiver to avoid those mark, you don't have to use actual oil because they sometimes leave marks on the leather ( depends on the leather) to avoid that I usually rub my fingers around my nose and then scrub it where i want to skive and usually it works.. your skin produces enough oil for the purpose !
I’d like a link to your ruler and square. They appear to be nice and heavy and have holes for making circles. Thank you for your videos they are very helpful.
