starciel I felt your pain too 😂 I remember getting dropped off to college for my 8 am (yes my mom actually wanted to drop me off my first day ahahahahah) but it’s really great. Something that I noticed that he didn’t mention is that professors usually go over syllabus for about 15-20 min and then already move on to course work (something I was not expecting at all). Like seriously I was already taking pages of notes on the first day. But trust me when I say this, *cough cough* COLLEGE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIGH SCHOOL. I felt like I was suffocating in high school and college gives you so much freedom which is why people can fail. Those people don’t know how to time manage and it shows when they repeatedly get terrible grades. But all of the friends you’ll make are countless, it might take a couple of weeks (I made my friends at Orientation and in classes) but trust me that they’re just as nervous as you. You got this
starciel you’re not the only one, I used to avoid talking about college for months and when I would I would usually have a panic attack. Now since it’s almost the end of the school year I’ve kind of accepted it and learned that yeah it’s gonna suck for a bit but as cheesy as it sounds, everything is going to be okay eventually, I just have to be open for new experiences and try to make it enjoyable.

what i expect from my freshman year in college: parties, new connections, interesting courses. *covid hits* my freshman experience: attending night classes(14 hours difference), staring at the screen 24/7, suicide thoughts, existential crisis, thinking about dropping out midway into first term, absolutely no friends, shitty professors, tons of coursework, doubting my decision, that single email about mental health from my uni.
Here is what my first week of college was like so far: Went on a 5 day bender, day 6 smoked 6 blunts, then day 7 drank until I had my head in the toilet.
If I could choose a single room I will, I could not be in my comfort zone with others all the day, especially at night, I am introvert person and me nerves could not support noisy and crowded.

what i expect from my freshman year in college: parties, new connections, interesting courses.
*covid hits*
my freshman experience: attending night classes(14 hours difference), staring at the screen 24/7, suicide thoughts, existential crisis, thinking about dropping out midway into first term, absolutely no friends, shitty professors, tons of coursework, doubting my decision, that single email about mental health from my uni.
best advice i’ve heard all year don’t knock it until you hate it😂

bro thanks for the good advice. I'm pretty sure that im not a outgoing person but after I watch your video, I am encouraged by u a lot. It seems very difficult and will be a hard journey because of my English fluency and also my personality, but I believe that I can be a better person just as u said.

I clicked off the video when I realized you need an acceptance letter to go to college
In finland this sounds more like a transition from middle school to high school. Many start partying and you choose your classes, lots of skip hours too.
We deserve to be happy, HAPPY I SAY 😭
Hopefully by the time graduate high school and get ready for college, covid will be over and I can live on campus. I'm a person who remains hopeful.
