Bro the overall positivity is why I keep coming back to this channel, I’m in the medical journey too and actively trying to be positive rather than passively drifting into the negativity is HUGE In this field- for yourself, patients, and family
I’m so happy that you feel uplifted after my videos! That’s the goal! You’re 100% right in that it is hard to stay positive in this field. But I’m glad that I can help promote some positivity 🙏🏽
The fact you make these incredible videos AND be a great father/husband AND excel in school. Super inspiring! I'm not a med student by my partner is in his 3rd year too (mid clerkships!!) and it's cool to see how having a family looks like during this time and how you balance it all :) Keep it up!
Thank you so much Jennifer! I really appreciate this incredible encouraging message! 🙏🏽 I try my best but my wife Madison deserves all the credit. I’m sure your partner feels the same way about you!
I'm not in the medical field, but I love your videos and positivity. I feel that everyone can take something from your videos and apply it to increase their potential. Thank you so much for taking the time to vlog.
Thank you for sharing, as a current medical student who is not interested in surgery (have been in the OR before) is there any advice you can offer? I think surgery is cool to watch, but i don’t want to do any hands-on work😂 are there any tips to get me more comfortable before my rotation in the upcoming year?
Great question! I think the main thing is to focus on the postop care. There is a lot of medicine involved in that and then it will make you more interested during the surgery because what you will be assisting on will directly influence the patient’s care afterward. You can also offer to take the pager or cover the floor patients if there is an intern doing that. That way the intern can get to the OR and you can work on managing hospitalized patients. It’s okay to tell residents that you aren’t interested in surgery. They will probably find other ways for you to get involved and still make the most of the rotation.
@@EvolvingMedic thank you!!! I’ve been stressing a bit about it because I wasn’t sure how to tackle my surgery rotation when it comes up and this made me feel so much better. I will definitely take your advice into consideration!

If you’re half as good a doctor with your patients as you are with your wife and baby, you’ll make a lot of people very happy. Keep going!
Thank you so much for this super encouraging message! I really appreciate it!! 🙏🏽

Great video. Would love to see a video on your study routine as MS3
I’m glad you enjoyed it! And that’s a great idea for a video!
That at home surgical practice kit is genius! I’m sure you even saved money compared to those darn Amazon practice suture kits 🙄 haha loved the video
Exactly! Probably $5-10 total from hobby lobby and you have something that lasts and it’s multi-functional! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

I was just about to message you about the modern surgeon 😎
Curious to hear what your favorite way to study as a premed is Josh?

Surgery rotation is really stressful 😒😒
It can be, but hopefully some of these strategies will make things less stressful! 🙏🏽
