Sounds about right AZ DMV is the worst..always making unnecessary mistakes. Please just train these ppl right the first time. I am wondering with the school did you test for permit all in 1 day or 3 seperate test for each section??
99% of the students are on govt grants. Southwest has lost their status to enroll students with grants and Roadmaster doesn't accept grant students so now they're all going to Phoenix Truck Driving Institute. As I said in my last comment Matt was fired yesterday so he's no longer in the classroom. They hired a lady to work the Range but she complained it's too hot outside so they moved her to the classroom to help those students. Problem is now she sits outside all day smoking and the students in the classroom are way behind. I got all of this on video since it's gotten so bad. This school is so greedy and won't stop taking on new students. We have 176 students at roll call but luckily only about 75 people show up everyday.
What I forgot to say... the school doesn't receive the grant money until the student actually gains their cdl. So the students who can't catch on are just stuck there because the school won't get rid of them until they pass. Tell Kevin this will blow his mind... there's a guy there that was with Kevin in Feb. He still hasn't got his cdl. I'm 3 weeks in and only been on the road twice now. And both times I had instructors who didn't explain anything to me. I had to figure it all out by watching TH-cam videos 🤣
WOW!!!!! That’s TERRIBLE!!! When Kevin was there it had 45 students and another 5-10 names called with person not present. Big difference to what you’re describing!!! And the woman teacher…guess it’s not too hot outside to smoke?!? Crappy!!!! And Matt?!? Wonder what that was about? Is it Vladimir or Zhan??
@@TheJoyofTrucking yea they won't say why they fired him. I am not surprised though cause that's probably against employment rules to disclose. We sat there all day today... I got to do 1 offset at 8:45am and that's it. I left at 1:10pm and they weren't even done with the list yet. People are seriously PO'd. Sarge told me when I was leaving that everything has quadrupled since the 1st of the year and they're trying to open another lot. Too late for us stuck there now though 🤣
@@HotOneRecordz Soooooooooo sorry to hear that!!!! I think we’d said to get your name on the lists quickly because Kevin always felt that he should get more driving time than he did. But that was with WAY less people. Can’t imagine the scramble for that clipboard now!! Really feel for you! All that time in the heat for that short time in the truck. Stay strong!!! Stay determined!!! This too shall pass and you’ll get to the other side of it!!!!!
This school is complete garbage. On the Range we have close to 30 students on the south side and 30 on the north side. It is horribly overcrowded. I had to start documenting everything on video. All the instructors are walking off the job. Matt was fired yesterday. We sit all day for 0 to 1 turns to do 1 maneuver. I walked in with my permit and still looks like my total time frame will be 6 weeks to graduate and honestly I still won't have enough drive time legally.
@@TheJoyofTrucking I have a bunch of video footage I took but I won't post it cause I wouldn't want to get the instructors in trouble. I really like all the instructors, it's not their fault they're being overworked 😔
It's not the greatest. That is true. But...mostly nice people, they get the job done, and at a fraction of the price. And they have the right credentials and programs. Just watch out for all those donuts the Swift recruiter brings!! LOL! Good luck finishing up and getting your CDL!!!
@@TheJoyofTrucking I let my CDL laps that’s why I had to go to this school where I was teaching them how to back out how to do parallel parking $4595 waste of my time and money. I’m 65 years old I started driving when I was 16 years old five and a four gearbox and a brownie that’s was real truck driver back there nowadays it’s automatic and eight speeds 13 speeds get a minute to get them in a five and a four let them learn from that! I had to instructors that were trying to tell me how to drive when I already knew how to drive I really knew how to do the parallel parking and everything else which was a joke you never gonna parallel parking your whole life as a truck driver so that’s a waste of time in school but hey I had to get my drivers license so I put up with the bullshit don’t ever have to do that again and I got a job now that pays $350 a day does any other driver out there get $350 a day I don’t think so

Phoenix trucking driving school is a joke especially the bumper to bumper section.
