Despite seeming like an abomination ... this instrument is on prime-time telly as the instrument played on some of the theme-tune to Beyond Paradise on the BBC.
It looks to me like somebody bought two broken Hohner melodeons and a Student 2 piano accordion, and salvaged the best bits from all of them - I don’t think anybody would be able to bear doing that to functioning instruments! At least it works...
Good name for it. Enjoying the advent calendar! I'd only seen inside my accordion before. So it's been an education! And I don't feel so bad about my collection of instruments now. 🌲😃🌲
That's what I figured ... although actually switching the whole left hand to C/F would make much more sense to me. I'd have a Bb for Dm tunes which is so useful. And still be able to play in C normally.
Definitely a unique instrument!
Trying to imagine what the other instruments in the band look like.

A high point of my December these videos every night 🪗
Pip Ives made me a melodeon using an old student 2 piano accordion and a scrap pokerwork the bit fit nicely together and plays well
It's about time someone owned up to it 😱

D minor on pull might be a good choice for the missing bass reeds. Perhaps A minor on push. But perhaps not if it costs you money for the parts!
