This was great. I was there at pine knob, amongst the trees, in Clarkston Michigan when Slipknot first played here. A turning point in American metal history. Dynamic, thrilling and sometimes heartfelt, Slipknot a great, great band, with possibly the best front man since Phil Anselmo. A true force of nature. Thank you for this video 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I've loved this band since I was 11 (im 31 now) and have grown to love them more and more over the years but even though this is such a heartbreaking video to hear what they've all experienced, I love them and admire them all even more now, as after everything, it shows how humble, nice, brave and inspiring all these guys are :) Well except for the money thing with chris :( I didn't like how they handled that with him :( very unfair and wrong to do that to someone who is like family! but he will always be part of the band in my eyes just like joey and of course paul :)
I came here because of the baby that stopped crying because of their music, that kid's got good taste- This is very tragic though, but Im glad music exists so that many artists could express themselves
I was at the concert in Tinley park when the man died. He was in a pit made in the grass in the back. I watched and was dumbfounded at the lack of reaction by the employees that this man had been injured. Some of it was the employees not caring, and the rest was the fact that they didn’t have any form of communication with each other. The man collapsed and had a seizure during sulfur, and I didn’t see an ambulance till they were on their encore song. The situation could have been way better, and that man could still be alive. I don’t blame anyone for his death I just think they need to be better prepared for these kinds of things. RIP man
Adding to Corey Taylor assisting with medical emergencies i was at a Stone Sour concert where a young lady was dropped on her head while crowdsurfing and was totally unconcious. Corey Taylor happened to see it go down and yelled over the mic for paramedics helping to clear the crowd from the stage for the girl. Never really found out what happened to her but hope shes ok!
When my sons were 5 and 6 they loved Slipknot and made me play it everyday on the drive to school. My oldest son liked physcosocial. And my youngest son liked dead memories. We had to jam both before they would go to school.
I met paul gray on the river walk in san Antonio during ozzfest. We took XTC together and he cried and said he didn't deserve the success. R.I.P Paul. The most down to earth rock star I've EVER met 💔
I've been a maggot since 98. I remember when they said they will quit when someone leaves the group. Now they have 3 gone... Joey, an original member along with Paul, plus Chris. 1, 2 , and 3 are gone. I enjoy the self titled album. That is Slipknot at it's most pure form. I have an original Slipknot orange jumpsuit for sale if anyone is interested.
few weeks after shawn crahans daughter died I saw them live and you could so see how it affected him.. that was so sad.. rip to all the ones who died here
I was a bit larger when I was a teenager, and I still was almost crushed in the crowd, not even in the pit. Slipknot shows back in the day we’re savage.
I truly enjoyed this video and I hope all goes well for this band from here on out. Thank you for being so great and I look forward to future stories. ❣️😻
''his friends threw him in a trashcan, thinking he was dead'' friends?! those scumbags are the real monsters, not friends!! Yes, it was a good wake up call for corey and i'm glad it helped him in the long run thankfully but those monsters are disgusting for doing that to another person! They should face punishment or something, that's so heartbreaking how anyone could do that :( Poor corey, I hope he has better people in his life now and so glad to see him doing better :)
I'm South African and remember when that incident in Krugersdorp was all over the news and in the newspapers... We even had these youth organisations come talk at the school to tell us about how bad drugs, metal and satan is.... The ones of us who enjoy rock and metal was so angry about this. Stereotyping sucks and living in a closeminded society doesn't help the situation
I was sad to hear of people getting killed at shows... always a tragedy. But a 62 year old in a mosh pit? Surely he should have had more sense than to jump into that, smh 🤦♂️
I have a portrait of Joey and a Slipknot S tattoo. On the same arm, I have Vinny and Dime. Still the same arm I have two NIN, Manson, Lamb of god, SOAD, Motorhead, korn, and of course, Slayer. 🤘
What a life these guys have lived. As a fan since 2000, I was lucky enough to see the band in concert 2000 - and lucky while being right up front in a massive crowd. I was leaning (getting crushed against) the stage barricade about 5 meters away from the main stage staring at a huge red tapestry of the Slipknot logo. The energy was something I never thought could be a expressed. There were explosions and pyrotechnics from the start of their show - the DJ Sid jumped over my head and into the crowd and so did Shawn. He was pushed back to the stage and HE went right over my head the other way! He was soaking wet- it was August in California. Before Slipknot played their set, SLAYER played theirs! I was more nervous during Slayer cause I was close to the pit and my feet weren’t able to touch the ground , all because there were so many people pushing against each other that it lifted your body up, but your feet were six inches off the ground. Tattoo The Earth tour!
I remember my childhood friend, an evangelical Christian, randomly started listening to slip knot. And she harshly judged me for listening to Dre, 50, and snoop cuz apparently rap was evil. 🤷♀️
That's ridiculous that they banned their music on the radio after 9/11. I enlisted shortly after 9/11 and we used to blast Slipknot while stationed overseas. It got the adrenaline pumping and of course small hail Mary hope that it'd put fear in the hearts of our enemies.
In 2003 as a freshman me and a couple buddies saved up the money and traveled 3 hrs to see slipknot. Checked into our hotel. Went to the mall before the show. We went to a skate shop and the clerk told us. The show. That was opening In an hr just got canceled. We were all heart broken. We ended up never getting our money back for the tickets. Numerous times I had a chance to go see them and that one experience always steered me away.

it shows how humble, nice, brave and inspiring all these guys are :) Well except for the money thing with chris :( I didn't like how they handled that with him :( very unfair and wrong to do that to someone who is like family! but he will always be part of the band in my eyes just like joey and of course paul :)
I came here because of the baby that stopped crying because of their music, that kid's got good taste-
This is very tragic though, but Im glad music exists so that many artists could express themselves
RIP man
Cory Taylor will go down in history as one of the best metal vocalists. Up there with Halford, Dickinson,Dio, and Alsemo. Hopefully not the last one.
Richard Binder and David draman
Chino moreno
Dont forget David Draman
Alsemo really man? It's Anselmo. And he's a better metal vocalist than the other few guys despite his attitude.
thank you Joey and Paul
Adding to Corey Taylor assisting with medical emergencies i was at a Stone Sour concert where a young lady was dropped on her head while crowdsurfing and was totally unconcious. Corey Taylor happened to see it go down and yelled over the mic for paramedics helping to clear the crowd from the stage for the girl. Never really found out what happened to her but hope shes ok!
I hope she was OK too... but that being said, you can't pull an idiotic stunt like crowd surfing, then be shocked when you get hurt! I mean, COME ON
When my sons were 5 and 6 they loved Slipknot and made me play it everyday on the drive to school. My oldest son liked physcosocial. And my youngest son liked dead memories. We had to jam both before they would go to school.

Editor: Wait this isn't clickbaity enough, let's add *TRAGIC* for no reason
Rick Jansen everyone like this so grunge can see it
@Island Mike U so stupid you dont even get the point
I thought it was pretty dark.
My point is that this title is used for every band that's covered in this series
My favorite metal band and my second favorite band of all time.
Who's 1st?
You can't say their your second favorite and not say your fist
Foo fighters are my number one band.
Favorite song?

Bruh I was at the Tinley park concert when the dude was hauled out on a stretcher
Bryce Sandy same same
Fuckin metal
It was horrible waiting on the medical attention while it all happened
I met paul gray on the river walk in san Antonio during ozzfest. We took XTC together and he cried and said he didn't deserve the success. R.I.P Paul. The most down to earth rock star I've EVER met 💔
Michael Myers looks like he could fit in..
Never listened to slipknot before in my life but youtube recommendations find a way to make me interested.
Love watching multiple videos of this bands past cause i feel like i get a small detail i didnt know before.
Crazy to think a band like this can make such sad songs like vermillion pt.2 and Snuff.
What is so sad about snuff and vermilion
What is so sad about snuff and vermilion
@@hellfire6270 what's not sad about those songs
why am i watching this before bed?
bro same im scared now lmao
same lol
Scared of what? Your shadow ?
“Regardless of their taste in music, they were tried as adults” perfect
few weeks after shawn crahans daughter died I saw them live and you could so see how it affected him.. that was so sad.. rip to all the ones who died here
I was a bit larger when I was a teenager, and I still was almost crushed in the crowd, not even in the pit. Slipknot shows back in the day we’re savage.
I’ll never forget when I went to a slip knot concert. Only tome I’ve ever been crowd surfing. 10/10 would recommend
Timothy Distel yea if u want a cracked skull/permanent brain damage/ broken bones
I truly enjoyed this video and I hope all goes well for this band from here on out. Thank you for being so great and I look forward to future stories. ❣️😻
''his friends threw him in a trashcan, thinking he was dead''
friends?! those scumbags are the real monsters, not friends!!
Yes, it was a good wake up call for corey and i'm glad it helped him in the long run thankfully but those monsters are disgusting for doing that to another person! They should face punishment or something,
that's so heartbreaking how anyone could do that :(
Poor corey, I hope he has better people in his life now and so glad to see him doing better :)
This needs an update. RIP Joey
Well they have 9 members in the band so naturally they have more tragedy than a normal 3piece band
My buddy Randy overdosed listening to Slipknot.
R.I.P brother..
Iowa is in the top 3 metal albums of all time imo
Slipknot: We are the darkest and the most dangerous band!
Mayhem: Cute.
One of the best bands in the 🌍 i will never stop listening to them
I was sad to hear of people getting killed at shows... always a tragedy. But a 62 year old in a mosh pit? Surely he should have had more sense than to jump into that, smh 🤦♂️
Stupid and dangerous for ANYONE - but ESPECIALLY so for someone in their 60s. 😒
R.I.P Joey Jordison 26/07/21..
A dark day in the history of music..Gone too soon..
Ayyy Iowa represent
Skol Vikes, buddy!
Skol
Now do one for Pantera
I have a portrait of Joey and a Slipknot S tattoo. On the same arm, I have Vinny and Dime. Still the same arm I have two NIN, Manson, Lamb of god, SOAD, Motorhead, korn, and of course, Slayer.
🤘
DeathBat The Head They have a better story .
Wait until you hear about Mayhem...
Corey Taylor’s story always makes me cry
The term maggot needs to go
@@ahhwe-any7434 why
Maggot stays
Nice video. Thanks for the Slipknot info. I love the band so it was good to learn about them.👍👍
Didn’t know Rock Feed wrote for Grunge.
What?
What's truly horrifying is the amount of necks that have been damaged and will continue to be damaged \m/
I remember my childhood friend, an evangelical Christian, randomly started listening to slip knot. And she harshly judged me for listening to Dre, 50, and snoop cuz apparently rap was evil. 🤷♀️
but they- alright then
That's ridiculous that they banned their music on the radio after 9/11.
I enlisted shortly after 9/11 and we used to blast Slipknot while stationed overseas. It got the adrenaline pumping and of course small hail Mary hope that it'd put fear in the hearts of our enemies.
Slipknot does not make bad songs. They make rock and very heavy metal songs that are so awesome, that they will blow your mind.
What a nice group of young men
I can't believe how many people in the comments don't know who Slipknot is. Smh shame on you!
Sorry that it isn't my style😭
@@tino4musone995 if it's not your style how did you end up getting to this video lol
The tragic story of taking rock feed's video.
I'm glad y'all sorta kinda made it. I miss Joey and Paul. I wish you had had more compassion for Joey.
When he said that he woke up in a dumpster 2 miles from his house reminded me of Trevor from gta 😂
RIP JOEY JORDISON
I was down in the pit during the 2019 knotfest show and if it weren’t for the young guy that was able to pull me out, I probably would have died.
11 dudes and they stick together till the end. For me this is one of a rare sight
