    i was a kid back then and my best friends parents owned one of these , and i traveled all over the midwest camping and visiting their family with them sitting in the rear window seat . we used this to pull a pop up camper to camp at walter b hayes state park in western michigan , northern michigan camping trips , visit family in ohio , gratiot drive inn - we saw vanishing point and butch cassidy n sun dance kid (two classics) in this - his mom dropped us off at cobo hall in detroit 1974 to see deep purple (GREAT concert) . we pulled their boat in this to go fishing on lake st clair . back then this car was a luxury vehichle to me , my friends car was exact same green n wood combo as this too . i miss you mrs b and granny mold xoxo

    My parents had one same color and trim. It was the last car my father drove until he succumbed to cancer. It had well over 200k miles when he had to stop driving. That old Plymouth made so many trips to Carolina Beach it could probably find its own way there.

    This is the Sport Suburban. My Dad didn't get it because he didn't want the hidden headlights. ("They freeze shut in the winter," was his comment.) He also didn't like the fake wood paneling on the outside. ("First thing that gets ripped." We lived in NYC at the time.) So he got the Custom Suburban, which was a step down, but didn't have the hidden headlights or the wood paneling. The rear-facing third seat was AWESOME!

    Brings back good memories of my wagon, sky blue w/wood grain and a 440 engine. Lived in Charlotte NC at the time. Drove that land yacht all the way back to RI then traded it for a 1965 Plymouth Valiant. Miss the old girl, what a comfortable cruiser she was.

    That was an immaculate wagon..... and pretty sweet Caddy behind it too. Back in the day when cars had class and style.... you could tell one from the other at a distance..... now you it’s hard to tell the difference between a Kia , a Honda, a Benz or a Lexus ( just examples people :) )

      I am jealous. I bought a 1980's Buick Estate when my kids were very young, ages 5 and 3. They STILL remember going to the drive in it eating pizza and watching The Iron Giant. Traded it for a minivan. Barf.

    This is my car now. She was exported to The Netherlands in 2016 and I bought her last year. She has been garaged ever since she arrived in The Netherlands and is still in immaculate condition. Some months ago, I took her to Germany for a couple of days over Easter with my family, no problems whatsoever.

    My parents had one, but it was yellow with white interior. I still remember the turn signal lights on the fender like it was yesterday. Bought it when it was 6 months old and kept it up until 1984. Also, there was a green parts wagon just like this one parked at my grandparents house. I'm not sure who actually owned it, but my dad had to swap rearends during a weekend visit, they lived about 3.5 hours away from us. Strange thing about the green car was that at some point in its past a roll cage had been welded in where the middle seat should've been.

    You Know I was jealous of people who had these Big Chrysler styled wagons compared to our Ford Wagon which didn’t have Hidden Headlamps, or 2nd over head A/C for the rear or the GM hideaway Tail Gates. Just seemed like Chrysler had the style and with Rally Wheels looked even nicers!

    beautiful wagon in Sherwood Green metallic but that is not the original woodgrain trim. My family owned a '72 Sport Suburban like this - Sunfire Yellow with black interior. This green one is an early model as evidenced by the older roof rack style. The luggage rack styling changed mid yearLater '72 Sport Suburbans had roof racks with woodgrain trim as well. The original woodgrain trim was a simulated Brazilian Rosewood. The woodgrain on this wagon has been replaced

      @TheMikemerkury 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some of the woodgrain is original and some was replaced. I also have the original order sheet and biuilt sheet. If amyone interested to see this car "live", i will be at the Terrebonne car show on Ile du Moulin tomorrow.

    You would need a 360 in it, if you wanted to haul any thing and use the air conditioner. Nice car though my friend one almost exactly like it, his ears fully optioned except it had a 318"
