Just stumbled upon this vid. These old Mopar wagons were beasts. Many suffered a demo derby fate. Thanks for capturing one that escaped unscathed.

Back in the days when they made good looking cars out of American steel not recycled ppo cans and plastic like today

We had a white '70 Dodge Polara station wagon with a V8 engine - man, could that thing move! I was only 17 when I was driving that beast. It had the high beam button on the floor. I am only 5 feet 2 and had to scrunch down to reach it! This car seemed like it could literally fly. It had really amazing power steering, you could drive it with two fingers. It was so long in the front and back, I have never driven anything like that since. I think I would be scared to now!

Hey! That's my old Polara wagon! Sold it in 2007. Always wondered what happened to it! Except for the tires, it's still exactly the same! And the light in the grille is the factory Dodge Super-Lite, offered only in 1969 and 1970. I really miss that one! The black interior door panels came from a '69 Plymouth, as the originals were all cut up.

Haven't seen one in years. I wanna say The Bradys had one on the show. I worked in a Standard oil station as a a kid and the station had a light green beast, may have been a 72, Coronet. Thought it was a 360 but I guess not, maybe a 400.

That color brown was part of the Chrysler lineup. It was a good, conservative color. A Polara wagon was so good as a family car. Even made a good company car for a sales representative. Take top clients to dinner.

We had one with a custom ordered supercharged engine! And the custom Super light that shown blue 🔵 when turned on. We got pulled over twice for having it on it had three seats two forward facing one backward facing for the kids both the middle C and backwards if needed. This was the baddest ass car, my stepdad wound up selling it to my uncle who promptly painted it krylon yellow probably when he was drunk and drove it drunk until it wouldn't drive anymore sad it wound up that way it was like an iconic car. I have a picture of my mom and my sister standing by it. That I cherish.
