some people release yellow brake, and apply red brake. you did the opposite. does it matter

As far as I know, it doesn’t matter.
The red(trailer) and yellow(tractor) brakes don’t have any thing to do with how fast the pressure builds up.
I believe some examiners want you to release them, as you would have them released while driving on the road. It could be their way of simulating real world conditions.
