    Small correction, during the audible air leak portion you said supply line, but your brake pedal is the service line. Just incase anyone gets confused

    An air loss rate test should be done with full system pressure, the higher the pressure, the better chance of finding a leak (real world) also... a gauge marked Front is secondary circuit and gauge marked rear is primary... just a friendly heads up!

    If you say log book on your test day your gunna lose marks. Its record it in your inspection book inform the operator and take the truck out of service. Log book is for hours of service not inspections.

    Bring the pressure more than 100psi on both gauges because we know during the audible air leak test(minor defect) we gonna drop the some units of pressures and maintain pressure above 100psi for air loss rate test(major defect) as well.
    Tell me if i am wrong?

    How do you know if you have lost more than 4psi if the air gauge only has like 4 numbers in measurement i guess 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 how are you sure if you loss 4 psi or more? You just take a guess or practically gauge shouldn’t move?

      The way to check if we lost 4 PSI, is by looking at the gauges at the start, the pressure is 100PSI, after a minute, the pressure would drop so it can go from 100 to 99, or 98, or 97, or 96 PSI which are all good.

    i was told the test is done within operating pressure which is 80-145 prefererably on the higher end, not exactly 100, thats only for mark and measure

    You are incorrect the max psi loss is 3 psi over 1 minute

    • @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810
      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi,
      3 PSI is the max if you have the tractor only, however we have a trailer attached so the max PSI for that would be 4 PSI

      Its 3 psi for a straight truck 4 psi for a tractor and trailer and 6 psi for tractor and 2 trailers
