That number is approximate, because jet engine and rocket thrust is measured in units of force (EG Newtons, pounds), and not power (EG horsepower, PS, kilowatts). Bloodhound's jet engine can produce 20,000lb (90kN) of thrust in afterburner, with another 9000lb (40kN) coming from a solid rocket motor.

@@chm1ata Horsepower is just a unit of power, just like a Watt. 1 Horsepower (mech) = 745.7 Watts. Interestingly, with a powermeter on a bicycle you can find your own max horsepower. At max effort I'm good for a little over 2 horsepower.

Humans aren't drag limited, so our top speed has nothing to do with our power output. According to a quick Google search top athletes can produce a peak power of about 2.5 HP, but only very briefly.

If I were to own a FRS/BRZ/GT86 and want to squeeze out more power, I go for oval/rounded valve springs to unlock the power that seems static at a certain part of the engine's power band.
Stay triggered. The 86 engine isn't anywhere near of a technical marvel as the F20C in the S2000. That thing was putting out 124hp/L naturally aspirated. More than a Hurracan, R8, or Aventador. And it revved to 9k. A 86 is nowhere near as close to a S2000 in any performance metric. Your car is comparable to a Miata, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Golf GTI. Learn your place.

@@MelvinKhosa the Miata is absolutely comparable to an S2000. At least just from a cost perspective. The money to buy an S2000 and get wheels, tires, coilovers, rollbar etc. Is like 5X as much as buying a Miata (which probably has all the standard "track car goodies" already installed) and turboing it. Then at that point, the Miata weighs another 300ish pounds less and has the same HP, the S2000 would get roasted by that Miata on the track all day. And the standard 1.6l in the first 2 years of the NA Miata revs to about 8600 so not even that far off from making cool vroom sounds.
Own a Miata and a Focus ST, used to own an S2000. Promise you, your S2k is an unnecessary money pit cuz the Miata is a better track car.

I would like to see an entire series on Bonneville. The history is so amazing, Im proud to say my father had a few brief seconds of it. He held a speed record 1.2 litters displacement 202mph using a Mazda 12a rotary. I highly recommend the movie "The World's fastest Indian". That's an amazing story that took place at Bonneville.

Sesto Elemento is close at 2200lbs 562 hp so 3.9 lbs/hp or there’s the catterham 620r that’s 1200lbs 311hp that’s 3.8 lbs/hp or the Hennessy venom got that weighs 2743 lbs and has 1244 hp and that’s 2.2lbs/hp.. still don’t know why 11 of these cars are on this list.

Some fun facts! The weight to horsepower ratio of a muscle car was defined 50-70 years ago as any car coming in at 13:1, or lower. It still stands!
I remember when Pro Stocker's burned 10 gal of fuel in a 1/4 mile run. That's 40 gal per mile. That's when they were running 7 sec quarter's.

If you want to type the Ä, Ö, or Ü letters, you can look up the letter you need and add “with diaeresis” to your search. For example, to type Nürburgring, you could look up “Nurburgring” or look up “u with diaeresis” and add that to the word.
