- How to grow orchids? What should you remember about growing orchids? Falenopsis are easy to grow because they tolerate average room temperature and do not require a rest period. The flowers of this orchid are very durable and are formed on periodically regenerating shoots. It is difficult to count today how many varieties of this beautiful plant went into trade. Falenopsis is available in many colors and sizes from miniature varieties to flower-sized varieties of our palm.
The most important part of the orchid for us are flowers. With exceptional beauty. We must remember not to spray flowers, because then stains or discoloration may appear on them.
The flowers are set on a floral shoot. Orchids bought in stores have beautifully run, straight shoots. Falenopsis, which have blossomed in our homes again, usually do not look so good. We must remember to properly guide the floral shoot. Fasten them to the support using the appropriate catches or so-called teeth.
There are eyelets on the flower shoot. It is from them that other shoots sprinkled with flowers can grow. If we decide to shorten the momentum after blossoming, it is worth to do it above the eye. We often wonder whether to cut flower shoots. In the case of phlegmopsis it is not necessary. We can wait until the momentum itself withers and then cut it. We can also shorten shoots, but then let's pay attention to the eyes.
The leaves of this orchid are located opposite, grow into a change. They are quite thick and stiff. The oldest leaves every now and then turn yellow and fall. If they start to ripple, it does not necessarily mean that the plant is not watered enough. On the contrary. This may mean that we water the orchid too often. When watering, make sure that the water does not stay in the leaf axils. It can cause them to rot. For that it is worth spraying with water or special nutrients for orchids.
Falenopsis creates thick, silvery gray creations, which quickly grow from the base of the pot. They are so-called aerial roots. They should not be cut off because they are responsible for collecting water and supplying the plant with energy. Cover them with velemin gray-white coating of special, spongy cells, adapted to draw moisture from the air. After watering, the color changes to a darker green. You can let them grow freely. You do not have to hide them in the ground. Unless we exaggerate the plant.
Actively growing roots have greenish tips, or growth cones. It has been noticed that orchids grow better in containers with transparent walls, because then the light also reaches the roots. We place such a pot in a casing, which can also be transparent, but it does not have to. It is worth removing the pot from the casing from time to time and checking the condition of the roots. Orchid casings often have a suitable shape that allows excess water to accumulate on the bottom, while protecting the plant roots from touching it.
In tropical rainforests, which are natural habitats for orchids, these plants grow on trees and collect water and food from the air. They are not parasites, we count them to epiphytes. In potting, it is important that the orchids grow in a loose and air permeable substrate. In normal soil, the flowers would quickly rot.
The orchid foundation includes pine bark and a small amount of peat, as well as a starting dose of fertilizer, so after transplanting we do not need to fertilize our plants for the next few weeks. The medium for falenospis must be characterized by good permeability and porosity.
Through the loose substrate in which orchids are grown, water flows like through a sieve, therefore the most effective way of watering is bathing. To do this, remove the plants from the casing and immerse in water. We can also pour water into the casing and leave the root ball in it until it completely soaks up with water. Then take it out and drain it. Such a bath is carried out on average once a week, unless the plant is in a rest period. When we are resting, we do not fertilize orchids and limit watering.
The roots of the orchid are sensitive to salinity, i.e. too intensive fertilization that can lead to their burns. Therefore, orchids should be fed with moderation. The most convenient solution is to use a fertilizer or conditioner for orchids. They have a balanced composition suited to the nutritional needs of these plants. We use nutrients once a month. They are available in the form of special applicators. Fertilize the fertilizer in water and water it with the plant or in such a solution, immerse the casing with the roots and the ground.

Nie ma.storczykow niebieskich. Takie są farbowane i kiedy pigment się wyczerpie to kwiatną na biało.

To faktycznie może być zalanie... Jeżeli jest wystarczająca ilość zdrowych korzeni powietrznych warto takie okazy przesadzić, usuwając zgniłe korzenie. I potem już wystarczy pilnować podlewania ;)
