A few years back, when I was a kid, I was staying in Sulfur Springs for a week. I had met a few locals who told me and my brother about the urban legend. I was so scared of hearing that story, that for the rest of the night I hardly got any sleep because I was so afraid and would refuse to turn of the lights. It’s kind of funny because even today, when I am in the woods alone, I will sometimes periodically look behind my back to see if anything is there.
Here in Missouri I wish we had rumor's about dogman and mothman we have about 3 on bigfoot now Ik we have monster bears but other than that its kinda plain monster wise
First I wanna say, that I hate you for the jumpscares when watching in the dark at 1:30am!! But now to the good part: Impressively animated very well told story! I knew the legend about the mothman but just the very striped down version. I learned a lot of new stuff about it. But I dont believe in this kryptids. They would have been found. Sekletons or dead bodys, pr someone would have filmed them in times of smartphone and internet.
In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something". The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States. The Mothman was introduced to a broader audience by Gray Barker in 1970. It was later popularised by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies,[4] claiming that there were supernatural events related to the sightings and a connection to the collapse of the Silver Bridge. The book was later adapted into a 2002 film, starring Richard Gere. An annual festival in Point Pleasant is devoted to the Mothman legend.
Someone would appear to be having big fun with their expanding computer animation skills. The stuff looks great, dude, and it is noted and appreciated..I'm still stuck on the White Lily....
I am in love with the detail you put into this, the pre-Scarberry sighting at the grave yard, the sighting on the billboard, the dairyland stop, the 57 chevy, and even the dead dog (Rip Bandit)
Was devasted last night to find out this is a new channel and there where only a few videos so far. This is a pleasant surprise though, I hope this pace keeps up 😀
I appreciate yarn hub so much they make good and high quality vids in just a week or a couple of days and they work on 2 channels and I really appreciate it thanks yarn hub :D👍
A couple days, weeks or months after the first Moth-man sighting, a farmer shot a GIANT barred owl (i mistakenly call them as barn owls, barred owls have an intense glow coming from they're eyes if shine with light) which had a 6ft or 2 Meter wing span if I remembered correctly. The farmer later said in an enterview that after he shot the owl, there we're no more Moth-man sightings, also in the original car report, they said it was feathery not Moth-like, actually all reports of Moth-man says he is feathery, this means the Moth-man sighting are caused by a barred owl. The dead dog might be an already dead dog killed by a different animal or got hit by a car, the owl just founded it on the road and took it, the other dog had chased the owl far enough that he got lost. The media and press might have exaggerated or created the Moth-man we know today. (In the original comment, I thought 6ft is 1 meter. (Shout out to the guy in the comments)
YESSSS!! I’ve always been interested in urban legends surrounding cryptically and Mothman’s one of my favorites!! Remind me to watch it again in October!!
THIS CHANNEL IS HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. ITS ACCORDING TO MY FAVOURITE THEMES, LIKE MYSTERY AND HISTORY STORIES. ❤️ THE YARNHUB TEAM APPRECIATE YOUR HARD WORK!
No, no. I'm sure that was just me coming home after my colleagues thought it was a funny idea to tape cardboard butterfly wings to me and pour luminous salt in my eyes. My dad humor aside, great video. I first saw the mothman in a scouting magazine article, among other American folklore creatures such as the sasquatch, so this does bring some memories of that time I nearly stuck a switchblade in my thigh while attempting to carve my face into a twig. Interesting stories about how it could give people dreams of the future. I vaguely remember something about a bridge, and how it actually collapsed after some people saw it and dreamt of it's collapse. Keep the great work, and the mystery going!
It’s been seen in Chicago, the Midwest, and even Chernobyl after the reactor explosion. Several firefighters saw a moth like creature flying over the reactor in the hours after the disaster
Damnit I was expecting anotherr cool UFO story beforesleeping and now I can't stop thinking about every time I saw a weird thing during the night. Nice video though, hope to see more of them
You guys are just killin' it!! Incredible work, thank you so much- Cannot wait to see which phenomenon you are going to animate next! Great research & love the narration too.
My grandparents were coal miners north of Pittsburgh, but they had family out in WV who claimed to have seen mothman. A looooot of otherwise pretty grounded and realistic people claimed to see it in the 60s and 70s. It's one of the weirdest phenomenons in us history.
Born and raised, and still live in West Virginia. Our state hardly gets enough attention unless it’s crazy, but I love it when people rediscover the moth man. We’ve got all kinds of crazy things here, my great grandma used to tell us stories of how a creature with a star on its head scared her off of her horse late at night on the mountain she lived on and my brother had seen it a day before he had a car crash. A lot of the urban legends in this state have a lot to do with upcoming disasters.
Never heard of a creature with a star on its head! Who knows what to believe? Maybe she tried to scare you or maybe it was a weird creature? Who the f###k knows dude!
If you ever drive through point pleasant you have to visit the mothman museum. I have to travel through there at least once a year on the way to visit family and I always stop in, the museum has all sorts of stuff relating to the TNT area, the bridge collapse and the mothman prophecies movie. Plus you'll get to see the mothman statue they have in the town square, always a cool sight on a long road trip.
Most likely it was just a large bird (an owl or something like that, given the large eyes) that was mistaken for a monster. At least that's way more plausible than the theory of this monster actually existing.
Fun fact, it is said that days before the chernobyl nuclear accident the locals reported seeing a "bird man" flying near the nuclear plant, the description was that of a "giant winged humanoid with penetrating red eyes" the story later became known as "the black bird of chernobyl", also in the united kingdom there are reports of the appearance of an "owl man" in 1976, which was nicknamed "the owl man of mawnan" which had the same description of a winged humanoid with big red eyes. Very good video, I find these mystery stories very interesting and the animation and narration are great, keep it up
Nice video. If you're going to cover cryptids on this channel then I highly recommend that you do videos on the Ohio Grassman and the Loch Ness Monster.
I never realized how comparable moth man is to a Horned Owl, the Owl is a pretty big specie with large wings and the eyes have a chemical just like cat eyes that if you shine a light at them they look like they glow
moth-man is a weird one, not only because of it's appearance but because it seems like some people believe it to protect/warn people of danger, others say it's dangerous, while still others say it doesn't really care much about people
I wrote a 10 paragraph post on Reddit a few years back about a dragon I saw (and repeatedly see) and I believe that it may have some sort of connection to mothman
without a doubt my favourite cryptid keep up the good work too. i know you havew to entertain both mystery fans and military fans so good luck and i hope youll always be successful
Intresting to see non-millitary story videos. Still, they are as enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
Great! Remember taking anomalies class on this creature in Middle School.
Never heard of this. Why even have an anomaly class? Please explain
Well it's another channel after all
Who’s to say it isn’t still a military video? 😉

Nice to see more representation of West Virginia/ Appalachian folklore and cryptids. Always been a fascination of mine

Clever insert of The Batman 2022 theme as they talk about the moth man being a real life superhero.
