Technical question for the miking of the drum kit : why 2 mics per tom ? Never seen that before... Is it to have 2 mic options for each tom for mixing (one would have too much bleed because of its position relative to the crash cymbal, while the other mic which is symetrical to the first one, would have less bleed and be more usable for the mix) ?
One was for the house mix and the other for our board recording. We decided to use dedicated mics this year to get a cleaner sound than in previous years
