    💡Tip: Using a variable temperature kettle when learning to brew tea can extremely beneficial when determining the best temperature for each different type of tea. Start with a lower temperature and slowly increase the temperature and brew time to find your desired taste preference.

    Great video! I was on the fence about which kettle to get. Going with the Corvo, as I do a press pot of coffee in the morning, and then switch to black or green teas in the afternoon. Since I am a chemist, got the “pour control thing” down pat! LOVE the quality of Fellow products.

    Fun fact, for those that find the STAGG pours just a bit too slow, If you look inside there is a little metal piece with holes covering the hole at the bottom of the spout, which further restricts flow. With a mallet and a flat sharp chisel or screwdriver it can be removed easily. It now pours SMOOTHER and just a bit Faster.

    I got the stagg as a Christmas present and I'm loving it! I used to work in a tea shop that used brewista artisans, and I prefer their pour ever so slightly (higher range of pour speeds from one kettle), but the way you set the temperature of the stagg/corvo is so much nicer to use and doesn't make any obnoxious beeping (always hated that with the brewista)
    I was curious about the corvo, but I'm glad I have the stagg in the end.
    Great video!

      I agree, fellow is my favorite kettle by far that I have found. It’s a great kettle

      I believe you can silence the Brewista by holding plus and minus simultaniously

    I'm wanting some that I can also take with me on road trips to use in a hotel, or even in my SUV with an inverter. The STAGG seems to pack bigger and might be fragile. The Corvo looks like a better choice for me.

      I have taken both in road trip, and due to functionality alone, the corvo but also I have used the Bonavita traveler one it’s much small and only on piece.

    I research on this EKG gooseneck kittle and some people like and some don't, the one customer who I read comment about the product and wasn't happy at all, didn't work the way it should have worked, also very expensive, I was going to purchase this item but am glad I didn't,

      Thanks for watching, fellow is quite good about responding to issues, so best to reach out and they should replace it. Glad it was helpful and you were able to make the best decision for you. 😀

    I switched to the Corvo after my Stagg broke. I was quite disappointed by the pour quality of the Corvo, though. Where the triangular spout connects to the base, there is a kind of ‘step-down’ that makes it ‘stutter’ if you try to pour slowly. It annoyed me so much that I filed away that step-down. Would recommend this hack :)

      @JeffreyMcIntosh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great recommendation! thank you for sharing. I haven’t experienced too much with a slow pour on the corvo, since I always have a stagg next to it to use if needed. So this is a great hack for anyone considering only a corvo!

    • @ThijsVogels
      @ThijsVogels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JeffreyMcIntosh it’s still not nearly as nice for slow pours as the Stagg, but a considerable improvement. :)

      at this price point Stagg should be lasting at least 7-10 years. How did your last?

    • @ThijsVogels
      @ThijsVogels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sanjayrajsoni I’m afraid just 3 years or so. Maybe I was unlucky. Indeed a bit disappointing.

    One concern is the lack of speed in reaching a boil…I have a copper Simplex kettle (with special base for use on gas stoves) which takes around 1.5 - 2 minutes to reach a boil. The reason I am considering the Corvo is I don’t have to keep it on my stove as with a kettle. Not liking that it takes almost twice as long to boil v. Doing it the “old fashioned” way. LOL. DO like that I can set the temp for special teas, such as green and yellow that need to be way below the boil.

    • @JeffreyMcIntosh
      @JeffreyMcIntosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences! Yeah the time to reach a full boil is a bit slow once it gets to 90c but other then that my favorite kettle so far and easy to use.

  • @Apollostowel
    @Apollostowel ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They're very slow, and if you need to boil, you're be there a while while the temp gauge thing decides what to do about that. So much money for a kettle that can't easily boil. :(

    • @JeffreyMcIntosh
      @JeffreyMcIntosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the one downside is the time it reaches a full boil, I’ve gotten used to it but will be testing a new kettle here soon. Updates to come
