    So just leaves the slipper pads out like a boss. Might slip alot if not tightened fully.

    Dude thanks for the video!! My 2 speed transmission kit didn't include the motor position paper . Much appreciated 🙏 ☺

    I changed my radio to rc6gs so I can adjust the power and exponential for the throttle and it runs smoother now with more extra channels for the lights and winch.
    The sports is so light that you don't need to have more Torque to climb in my opinion. But having slow smooth throttle using the stock radio will save you more money. And gear ratio is the way to go.
    Nice upgrade anyway bro.
    MABUHAY!

      Mabuhay! I agree - changing the spear gear made the radio more responsive, spins the tire as soon as I touch it .... and with the bigger tires doesn't heat the motor as much

    I put the same spur gear in mine, with a 9T pinion, but, isn't necessary took off the transmission, only remove the three screws and it moves a lot for change spur. And you can use the provided tools for this mod, is a quality set of tools.

    Nice video. Have you noticed any increasing noise after upgrading spur gear to metal? Working on a 2 speed transmission conversion on my son's trx4 sport and that kit includes a 45T spur gear (plastic).

      It does get louder with the metal spur gear ... it’s metal on metal ... it’s meant for slow crawling not fast runs or drifting

    I put a nine tooth in with my 45 stock spur and wow it’s all torque now

    Lol this is how not to install a spur gear. You need to either get a slipper rebuild kit or use the slipper eliminator. All spur gears require some time of slipper. You should have updated the video so others do not make this mistake.

    Nice upgrade Ricky's but with 45 tooth spur you will loose the speed, the truck run 7mph out of the box with 39t and with 45t he will run 3-4mph maximun ?

    • @RickysGarageVibes
      @RickysGarageVibes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      great advice Sam ... I mostly crawl so didn't mind the speed drop. I later upgraded the ESC/motor to the HobbyWing XeRun Sensored Brushless ESC/Motor system

      @@RickysGarageVibes I think to put the optionnal 2 speed Ricky's and the castle crawler sensored 3800 for more speed. I just subbed and activate the bell for follow you in your adventure :)

      that means a lot thanks Sam! I have a Castle Creations Brushless ESC/Motor system but haven't installed it yet ... will post when I do. I agree with you on the 2 speed - high/low gear ... and will post when I get it done! I'm open to any and all suggestions, feel free any time Sam

      @@RickysGarageVibes I have a Bronco and I love it .... I'm thinking of changing the spur gear to one with more teeth for more low end torque as I only trail/crawl it... did you notice a significant difference when you changed yours? Do you think it's worth it .. mine is stock otherwise (I use 3s lipo's)

  • @Lokithefeline

    you left slipper pad on?

  • @skirmich
    @skirmich 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just 2 tips:
    -The input shaft (Spur gear shaft) has a hole sticking out in the other end which its sole purpose is to hold the shaft while you screw the spur gear nut, Do not grab the output shaft (Axle shaft) to turn the nut in the spur gear as it puts unnecessary load in the gears..
    -HR Spur gears are garbage….. No seriously I´ve seen HR Spurs get destroyed brand new in a single session of bashing on a Slash. While the TRX4 might not demand so much of the spur I sincerely think the stock spur will outlast the HR Spur gear in this case since properly tighten the slipper clutch will save the spur gear and drive train. At least in this video you didn´t properly tighten the slipper clutch sooo….

    • @juanmarichal263
      @juanmarichal263 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First tip ok, but second, I disagree, in a crawler rig, the metal spur is very durable, isn't a speed bashing car.
