Not everyone wants to, or can, have 2 different vehicles; a dog car and a normal car, for example. The ability to have one car do everything, would be so good!

The rear half of the vehicle being *hot swappable* by the fleet manager, every component being moveable at any time by the operator including speakers, lighting, and even the steering wheel is much more flexible than Canoo's offering. I think Canoo saw this coming - likely the reason for the pivot to commercial vehicles and government contracts as a priority since Canoo will qualify for Federal and State EV incentives, while Kia (at least as long as they're built in S. Korea) will not. Still it blows my mind why Canoo chose to delay production for as long as they have. They could have at least slow-rolled production and been cranking out limited runs of each vehicle type (getting their assembly line processes nailed down and still have 100s of vehicles on the road for real-world extended customer evaluation) while they set up their automation to handle volume. While they may still have a chance at success in the US market, they're totally missing the boat internationally. S. Korea and China saw the potential demand for vehicles like this, took Canoo's Swiss-Army-Knife concept and just began expanding on it. It's sad when great ideas are destroyed by poor management decisions. Canoo seems to have everything in place - _except actual production_ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So, when you get hit by a train, I suppose that the individual sections will share the total impact as they separate and leave the people in a cocoon of air bags. If each section adds weight and battery capacity, that would be pretty logical. Sign me up for the front section and a rear axel making a fully enclosed simple transport pod. You can keep the cargo capacity or sell it to someone who cares. Offer me one seat in a simple weatherproof transport capable of quickly reaching 55 mph and holding that speed for half of the battery's capacity while managing 10 miles per charge and you can get me to pay a fair price for it. An oversized skateboard with an acrylic shell will do the trick. I know this van isn't aimed at me. It's just a shame that nothing is.

Notice there is no interest in CES? Also, no one has faith in automakers innovating especially as the backpedal on EV development. All the concept cars are underwhelming. Anyone else notice that?

CES had 130,000 attendees this year. We noticed that and we were thrilled to see Honda, Kia, Hyundai bring products like this which are slated for production soon. -Producer Tim

@@MissGoElectric Producer Tim, I appreciate the reply but you've got the data. Check your views on TH-cam for CES content. I'm glad CES is involving more TH-camrs these days, it used to be exclusive to mainstream media such as CNET. But truth is, from here on the ground, the general public is not interested. A lot of false promises, vaporware, and blatant misuse of government funds. I've seen companies at CES that got government grants with products they are not enthusiastic about. Vaperware that's unable to compete in a free market. Then automakers like the ones you've mentioned make concept cars with no intention of release. Fool me once. You mentioned Honda, where is this Hydrogen car, the Honda Clarity? They've been teasing it since the 90s. The fact that they didn't make Hydrogen mainstream by building out the network is a clear failure. Tesla is the only company that created a nationwide network which is now subject to sabotage instead of the market competing is disappointing. I know you won't understand what I'm saying. You have no incentive to because of your partnerships but there is little to no innovation at CES. Main Street doesn't care. It's not on the news or local news. It's not trending on X. The views are not there on TH-cam. I know what I see. Your built in audience is supporting you but the general public does not care.

We have no partnership with CES or Kia.
We see that Kia (Hyundai Group) consistently delivers on their promises. They are leading the legacy automakers in the production of excellent EVs at affordable prices in spite of being on the wrong side of US government subsidies.

This will be the death of Canoo. This allows for complete versatility. It’s truly amazing and Kia is very likely to make this happen!

Canno and Kia were partnered in the early days. Kia didn't need anything Canoo had in order to succeed in the space. Hyundai Group's might has enabled an incredibly ambitious lineup. They have a track record of launching on time and on budget, too. Unfortunately for America, Canoo does not have that track record.

@@MissGoElectric Thanks for that information. I put a reservation on a Canoo vehicle during the pandemic, but got a refund since it did not seem like it would ever materialize. The KIA (concept) is far more attractive anyhow. This is very exciting and I look forward to seeing what happens in the next few years.
