Since you have the money, bringing out a line of belted tires might be a good investment opportunity for you.....I know the molds would be expensive off the rip but with everyone needing better tires, might be something to look into.
We need more competitors to Proline and Arrma because there's only so many 6/8s capable offroad tyres that can handle it at the moment.

No trust me kev is a basher he don’t want belt tire that would make is rc harder to control in the air and making it harder to backflip/flip
Method RC is another great option, along with Duratrax but not as good a quality as Proline and Method RC
Even my three year old is now saying "tumble wumble, game over" when his Tamiya Wheelie is Rollin. Thanks Kev.

Right the only good thing on this truck is the t bar. It still bends chassis and due to all the fixed links is less tune able. As usual you pay more for less with traxxas. But to each their own.

Dang Kevin. Durability test? There’s no way you can give the sledge your stamp of approval. So many things broke or needed adjusting in this video. I wanted a sledge but man did you just turn me off to one.
I haven’t finished the video yet but a servo that isn’t stock broke. You can’t really count that. Drive shaft bending and popping out in the back is a common issue Just get the front CVDS and put them on the back. And I guess I’ll continue the video. Oh yeah and the sledge tires yeah they’re garbage. It’s like every other Traxxas tire. The ESC fan and all electronics of every traxxas vehicle are always shit. Except the motor. I will continue the video.
Not impressed either, think my next rc car will be that 1/14 scale wltoys buggy 144010 I saw on Claire's rc channel, that one took a beating and they are pretty cheap and they are quick, stock radio and steering servo need to be swapped but that's it.

No idea how i stumbled onto your channel, but it’s awesome. You’re proper addictive, I’ve never had an RC car but now I want one
You sound like me last year now I'm on my 4th RC. If you have the budget you can't go wrong with an Arrma 3s or 4s Brushless, they will take a beating, are built to be launched and flipped (properly) off jumps, are super light and flexible and more than quick enough for a newbie, probably too quick but hey, at least you won't get bored in a hurry.

The 8s kraton is by far my favourite machine it’s perfect for what I use it for I don’t do jumps or stunts. For fields and the woods the the best machine

Yo Kev have you tried the hpi mt2 it’s an old nitro cos I’ve got one but fuel keeps spitting out of the head but I have thrashed it for about 7 years and nothing broke so could you do a review on it ✌️🇬🇧
It's pretty unfair to think an RC would survive this amount of abuse. Lots of presenters try to sway you one way or another by launching them 30m into a brick wall and then complain about toughness/weak parts.

Even compared to proline, duratrax, power hobby, and the copperhead tires from arrma, those backflips arrma makes have became my favorite tires so far! Got them on my tmaxx too and they are awesome!
The Pro-line 1/8 badland MX38 HP belted tires work great on my sledge, they're a little bit bigger than the stock tires so sometimes they rub on the body in tight turns, but really impressed so far!
You have stock servo?? You don’t find it makes the steering soooo sluggish ?

Yes I'm apart that group. Stock spur chipped,replaced.
Replacement stock spur +pinion now dead. Even with locktite pinion slips. The amount of debris/rocks that CONSTANTLY get jammed between chassis brace and driveshafts is atrocious. Very first run front and rear drive boots destroyed. A large rock was jammed so tight I had to remove brace. I don't know how a rock that size got under the body!
I'm not a basher, I began my RC experience about 3 months ago. Sledge has been down for weeks.
Rather than spending $ on shipping to Traxxas just to make it stock set up with high chance of repeat failure. Im currently awaiting for M2C reverse motor mount.
When I see my seldge just sitting on shelf with multiple gears dead and the rocks issue. all I can think about is wasted money. it's difficult to retain my enthusiasm for my Sledge.
Not being funny, but if you’re having to consider adding all those upgrades, is this a car worth buying?
"If it an't broke don't fix it" When something breaks then you replace it with the same or you upgrade it with something better and it might break less.

To be honest the only thing that really broke was the driveshafts. Which is common.

Yeah though it would be the sledge arrma just needs to learn, R&D means research and development traxxas does that which the sledge is evidence of but arrma has yet to show it

The sledge kinda looks like a beefed up slash 4wd underneath. I would love to see a company come out with a scaled up slash body to turn this into a super sized slash.

The sledge is only 800 bucks the only one that is a grand is the snap on xmaxx
To be fair the sledge is VERY overpriced for what you get stock and I don't think it's as strong a stock kraton. But if you can afford to get it and most of the upgrades it's going to end up way stronger than a modified kraton could ever hope to be because of the design. The diffs are pot metal but they're waay oversized and basically indestructible with steel gears. All the additional bracing to the chassis is amazing. Junk the electronics, chassis, motor mount and pot metal gears, throw some cvds in back and my sledge is basically bullet proof.

Just a thought I had: what if someone were to make the chassis out of spring steel? That ought to give the strength of metal but the flexibility and thus durability of plastic, I would think.

You could try the team corally dementor V2 stock wheels they withstand allot of speed and have quite a bit of traction
Try some power hobby belted tires.

Tekno 8th scale truggy with armma 6s tires kicks the shit out of the Kraton and I’m on 6s lipo 8000mha 100c with a hobbywing max 8 and a 2000 kv motor I love this set up plus mine has all the m2c chassis bracing
