These are my options for the answers to the questions of this lesson:
1) Who was going to watch a new movie at the cinema?
- Sarah, Claire, and Jack were going to watch the movie.
2) Why did Claire call Jack a traitor?
- Because he was going to watch the movie with girls that day and then he turned his mind to watching a baseball game. That is why Claire called him a traitor.
3) What happened when Sarah was driving towards the movies?
- They were driving towards movies when suddenly they got unfortunately a flat tire, but this isn't the only thing that had happened back when. After they stopped their car, Caire or Sarah, I can't remember it off the top of my head, wanted to call Jack to know what they could do with it when suddenly the door of their car got stuck and they couldn't get into the car. A little while they saw a thunder, it was going to rain and after some time it was really pouring.
4) Why does Claire believe that bad luck always comes in threes?
- I think it has something to do with our seeing things that happen around us in particular situations.
5) Why is Claire afraid that she might catch another cold?
- Because it was raining when they had got stuck there and she did recover recently.

Спасибо за урок, Елена Викторовна! Да, всем хороши праздники, кроме того, что отвлекают от изучения английского) Ну ничего, будем продолжать. Хотел спросить, в общем понятно, что I'm going to do, I'm doing, I will do могут означать одно и то же, но, наверное, в начале лучше опираться на классическое толкование? А там уж, по мере роста понимания, использовать в ситуациях то, что нужно?

4. Sarah and Claire experienced a few bad things in a short period of time, such as getting a flat tire and Sarah forgetting her cell phone in the stuck car.

оборот не означает, что планы обязательно изменятся или потерпят фиаско (was\were going to), возьмём к примеру Джека, который отправился на матч, так по контексту нет и намёка на то, что его планы не удались либо изменились, выходит, что он собирался и вероятно сделал это

Елена Викторовна, подскажите, какой перевод более корректен: «Я думала мы будем работать полный месяц, но мы работаем только 15 дней» 1) I thought we will work a full-time for a month but we are working only 15 days (здесь после I thought мне захотелось поставить “will”, так как это были мои личные предположения). 2) I thought we were going to work full-time for a month but instead we are working only 15 days (здесь going to потому что вроде бы должно было быть по-одному, но случилось иначе). .... Немного запуталась, как правильнее? Ещё раз благодарю.
@@irynakurinna4810 На самом деле, можно и так ,как вы в 1м варианте предложили. Но лучше делать согласование, то есть земенить will на would (вариант 2)

А еще можно тактично пройти мимо, коль что не так, а не высказывать всем свое грозное фе.
