Assassins could have been from any of the early albums. Calling it “timeless” is off point as everything they during their peak performances was above Time. Alan Davey brought out the energy and song-craft they needed. Hurts to speak of his departure, and yet it was necessary since he was mistreated by them all at a time when he was stressing on pulling Hawkwind up from the cold at a time when they most needed him.
Not sure where you got the Hammersmith Odeon bs from (actually states at the beginning which venues the whole vid was filmed at). This particular track is from Brixton Academy. You can tell by the area aroud the stage. Was an awesome show. Wango Riley fire breathing along with Kris!

Yeah Most people only know that the sample was used in the Fire Temple music, the Egypt level in Crusin World, Asads theme from Kakuto Chojin, and the Neo Ark from Parasite Eve 2. I know about, probably 20 songs that use the sample, including this one. There is this song called "Prayer for a Memory" by Lord Agheros that uses the sample, and it's one of the creepiest songs EVER.
When singing about Allah assasins was entertaining! After ISIS and especially 9/11 for the Americans i think that a loving tripping song who all danced sometime is now out of touch!
