I'm 12, I have a tournament final tomorrow against a pusher. In the semis, yesterday, I played against another pusher and I literally almost lost. I cried so much during the last set, her technique and shots were terrible she was just getting the ball in the court and I lost focus and started attacking her and did so many unforced mistakes. I ended up winning but that match was unforgettable. I don't feel like I'm playing tennis when I play against pushers with 0 technique. I really needed this video, thank you guys!
Happy to help! Just remember when playing opponents that have frustrating playing styles, stay within yourself and control the things you cvan control and let the rest go. A great plan is to put extra focus on your footwork and focus on executing a gameplan. Keep up the hard work! 💪
This tips look promising to me. I have been playing tenis for four years and last three tournaments there is a guy who is super quick pusher and he never lose a match. Last time I got pretty close to beating him, but my drive volley and overhad (and also mental toughness) weren't good enought. I promised myself I will do better next time so I am going to try to implement these tips into my game.
Tom Kocian thanks for the feedback Tom. Sounds like he’s a tough opponent. With the right game plan and staying mentally tough I’m sure you can beat him. Best of luck, let us know how it goes!
Always a competition of patience and endurance playing my regular pusher. Your tips help greatly but it's still really battle stations when I play the guy! Thank you for the video.
Years ago in Florida, a teaching pro called me a retriever, and it was not meant as a compliment. I become a pusher when my confidence is low in my shots, and being vertically challenged I fear the lob, or the passing shot if I advance to the net on a bad approach shot.
One of my favorite new strategies against these types is a drop shot off of a second serve. If you’re playing someone that just pushes in the second serve, it’s really the ideal ball: you’re inside the court, the ball is sitting up for you, and no one will be looking for it.
I've heard people call nadal a pusher also which makes me roll my eyes. See him coming to the net constantly and putting away balls with short angles? see him slicing to get a sitter so he can crush his instead out forehand?
Grinder definition: a defensive player whose strategy is to never not return the ball back to you: they just keep returning junk balls back to you, over and over and over again until you make an unforced error trying to win the point. They stay behind the baseline running back and forth and back and forth, consistently returning your attempted winners until you hit one out or into the net.

Paolo LC if we can’t laugh at ourselves, it makes it hard to laugh at others...I mean “laugh loudly, laugh often, and most important laugh at yourself” something like that. Thanks for watching!
Can you do a video about counter punching and how to incorporate into our game
Jello Mosquera that’s a great idea for content, thanks for the recommendation!
Literally watching this before a final against a pusher in the locker room :)
lol, love it! Hope the match went well! 💪
So how did it go?
@@nvp19892003 Must of lost...🤣

She was just getting the ball in court.
You know the rules of tennis don’t you? Where does it list technique in the rules 😂

Happy tp help! "Battle stations" I like that!
Great strategies. I practiced how to add more power to my service after watching your video and it worked like magic. Thank you
Ekow Mbiah thrilled time hear the instruction helped! We love receiving feedback like yours, thanks for taking the time to share Ekow. 🙏🏻
Great instruction! Played a doubles match last week against two pushers... After three hours the flood lights timed out and points split 😭
Glad you enjoyed it Scott! Sounds like you guys had some marathon points
Low slice works too. Most pusher Will produce a short ball trying to dig up that ball
Not the ones I play against!
Excelente!
Your tips in this video helped me defeat a pusher. Thank you
Glad to hear it!

Robert Lafferty Another word for retrievers is winners. Playing intelligently and from the back court doesn’t make you a pusher. Go get em my dude!

Andrew Moseley agreed, it’s a great strategy against someone who prefers to hug the baseline!
Wish I watched this before my 5-7 5-7 loss to a huge pusher

So as a pusher, now I know how people will try to beat me ;)

If you see their back, attack! That's a good item to remember.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!

I need a FH drop shot from the baseline
What exactly is a visual "queue" ? 🙄🤔 😉

So to beat a pusher you need to counter-punch. To beat a counter-puncher, be the better counter-puncher?
J Look to beat a pusher or counter puncher follow the instruction in the video! 😂
Nadal
Counterpuncher and Aggressive Baseliner
Edit:
That has become an all court player and attacks the net too.
all court player and lately becoming a net attacker
@@user-be5qg7mr1s you are right, just added that.
everyone should know, not even a pusher's parents love them. they don't love themselves, which is why they do what they do.
Anybody who considers Nadal to be a pusher, in the remote sense of it doesn't know anything at all about tennis. That's ridiculously laughable
What if I am a pusher and someone does this against me though ? 😂
Then stop being a pusher 😂
Don't do like the guys in the video and give easy slams at the net on your second or third shot. Keep Pushin' on.
