@@majordomomedia I’m curious if Malcom mentioned if he noticed a difference using different types of sweet potatoes! I love a Japanese sweet potato but have never made pie with it before.
Made this pie and it was delicious. It was dreamy creamy and so delish. First time using agar powder and now I’m trying to figure out how to use it in my recipes to convert them to a vegan version. Would love if you posted other vegan desserts using the agar powder like pumpkin pie or custard pie.
That white yam that was used in the sweet potato pie in Virginia is called a ham and potato. The skin is Beijing and the flesh is greenish. But it is an absolutely delicious and sweet potato. The difference between that and the Japanese yam is at the Japanese yam is purple still the flesh is greenish but much sweeter Andrews Air the Japanese yam is one of my favorites but you can only get it in certain places I found it at the health food store. I know several people that wait for the Hammonds to come in and that's the potato that they use for their sweet potato pies it makes an excellent pie people that don't live in the region 10 to buy them by the bushes when they come in. There's a county near Richmond Virginia where I have found them but they sell out fast
Hey Malcolm nice to meet you don't see a lot of guys doing the cooking segments on TH-cam and I never heard of Japanese sweet potatoes are they as sweet as regular sweet potatoes so you're making a vegan sweet potato pie 🥧 I know you don't use regular thickeners have you ever tried corn starch 🌽
Pie is SWINGIN! Excellent instructions. I like the texture but i think I’d like it better just a tad firmer. Cook it lil longer or maybe 1.6 grams of agar agar?
I am a bit disappointed in this video. There was not anything prepared such as; ingredients measured etc. also, Malcom never gave the correct measurement for the agar in micrograms. I was looking forward to his recipe, but instead it was a disappointment. He had a yam and sweet potato (white flesh)
Well greatness isn’t done so simple and that’s why MLII is world class chef and well your grandma isn’t. Also the editing was great in addition to the vibe and humor. Goodnight.

Malcolm is so effortlessly charismatic and funny - he needs to be a regular wedgie for next season!
We 💛 Malcolm too!
This is amazing!! Malcolm needs his own show!! More videos! 🙌🏻
Thanks for saying so!! Malcolm is great!
I didn’t have a micro scale and I used 1/4 tsp of agar agar. Still it turned out well!
Thank you for the video and written instructions. I’ve been keeping an eye out ever since I heard the episode. This looks amazing
Hope you enjoy it!
I made it for thanksgiving and it was AMAZING! So easy too!
That's great to hear! We were all so impressed with his pie!!
That texture looks so good! I might have to try this one.
Not just saying this…it was spectacular and different in ways that are hard to explain.

Glad you liked it!! We all agree Malcolm’s pie is A++.
that was a vibe...
Cool.
Thanks for watching!
ML2 needs to be a regular, because he makes MDM that much cooler
Did using different types of sweet potatoes make the pie different? Looks great!
Maybe only in color…but it was such a nice, unique result that Malcolm was very excited about it! It was breathtaking…
Wait. Someone clip in a video of Ying hurting himself. It's not very majordomo with out that.. /s
LOL, if only! Zero knife flings...no emergency field dressings...we really missed the mark on this one 🤣

The exact recipe is written in the description. Watching how Malcolm makes it should serve as a good visual aid.
32 minute video to make a pie!?!? Holy shit! Hire an editor dude and I’ll stick with my grandma’s recipe.
I am the editor 🤗 Recipe is written below…you don’t even have to watch!
