This trailer is a concept-mashup that shows my idea of what the Teaser-Trailer for "I am Legend 2: Last Man on Earth" might look like.

also known as recut trailers, involve collecting multiple pieces of film footage from one or multiple movies and editing them to create a new trailer. Trailer mashups are often created for a movie that does not exist now or to change the genre of an existing film. These are derivative works as defined by the United States Copyright Act 17 U.S.C. § 101, and as such, may find protection from copyright claims under the doctrine of fair use.
The trailer mashups are not only a user generated form of digital creativity but a way to create anticipation for future releases, working in tandem with current movie trailers. Movie trailers are designed to give minimal plot detail and to create hype and anticipation. Fan made trailer mashups allow the audience to perform their own cinematic spin on current movie footage. This allows the trailer to focus on a specific actor or portion of the film. It could even change the plot or genre of the film entirely.

I Am Legend 2 is a American post-apocalyptic action thriller film loosely based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film stars Will Smith as US Army virologist Robert Neville.
"Warners was really, really, REALLY into coming up with something, and I just didn’t know how to do it… I saw very quickly after the movie came out, and I went ‘People came to see The Last Man on Earth. We’ve done The Last Man on Earth. He died at the end of the movie; we can’t do it again.'"
Francis continued, explaining why a prequel wouldn't have made sense either: "It just felt forced to do a prequel, and that was basically, we would have been doing Contagion. And to do something that’s a follow-up either doesn’t have him in it, or you have to do something really dumb, which is, you know, ‘Scientists have taken his DNA and reanimated him somehow!’ And that would have been really dumb, and so I just kind of bowed out."
It's been more than a decade since I Am Legend premiered in theaters and it looks like that was the last time Smith will ever be seen in the role. It's entirely possible the story gets the reboot treatment once more but it likely won't be with Smith or Lawrence involved.
I Am Legend is a 2007 American post-apocalyptic action thriller film loosely based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson. The movie does touch on it a bit with showing that they're intelligent enough to plan traps and form close bonds with each other. I just finished it and the alternate ending does put some emphasis on his wall of "victims" that he tried to cure but ended up killing.
@@Deadriser well in the original book they are as intelligent as humans and have an entire functioning society and the omega man aka dr nevel would kidnap some of them to do scientific experiments and what have you, obviously trying to find the cure but they didn’t understand that and were afraid of him untill they capture him and they have a trial and deem condemn him to death
The book gives them a vibe of the movie daybreakers, like a vampire society not really zombie like they way I am legend is portrayed

IAL was the first book I ever read for fun (i.e., outside of a school assignment) as a young teen, and it blew me away. The movie in my mind stands as one of the best of that, at times, over inundated genre. It is poised for a revival so thanks for putting your best foot forward on your notion of how that would look!

Oh, no way they are having Will come back as Robert Neville again. Although I did hear that Michael B. Jordan may be taking over the role in the sequel! I read an article that said that anything Will Smith had already made prior to the slap heard around the world, or was going to be made movie-wise, has already been postponed or cancelled! Allegedly, No Studios are willing to work with him now. I don't think Will has been blacklisted, so much as just ignored now, in Hollywood. That's a shame too because I heard they were going to make a Bad Boys Part 4, as well as another sequel to A Good Will Smith movie, but I can't remember what it was.

I believe in the original book more emphasis was placed on the fact that Will Smith's character was actually the VILLIAN because he kept screwing with another life form thinking he was fixing them when really they didn't want to be fixed. Not sure if that's true. But, given Will Smith's current "predicament" with the slap and all, one way to make this movie work would be this: to make the second movie about the question NOT of how to "beat the bad guys" meaning the creatures, but, to ask the basic overall questions of should they be allowed to make up their own mind about whether or not they (the creatures) WANT to be fixed. This was the intent of the original ending that was changed due to public review. (I think the alternate ending is some where posted on the internet.) Maybe the question in the 2nd movie should be more like the recent "Planet of the Apes" movies where the question was not about simply how to kill off the apes but a more complicated issue of how do we co-exist and who's right and who's wrong. This would be a much better approach given Will Smith's current "persona" out there nowadays. It would fit and might help bring this movie back to life. Just my two cents.
Honestly, I never understood why he was seen as the villain. The virus didn't come from mother nature, it was manmade. These creatures were brutal. They killed and ate anyone who wasn't infected. Those things didn't even recognize their own families or friends, if they weren't infected and killed them in cold blood.
I saw the animated shorts of I am legend and some of them were brutal, especially the one in India and some of them were just sad.
That would be the most likely plot of how the next I Am Legend film will go, even though it's just a concept trailer.

The alternate ending was supposed to be the original ending he doesn't get blown up by a gernade. Its the better ending but I suspect they just wanted to close out his character. When I saw the alternate ending on the blue ray when it was released I always wondered why they didnt go with that ending. It was so much better.

Huh! 🧐 The version with Vincent Price is called “The Last Man”. While a bit camp (it was a product of its time), I think it’s well worth watching- gives an interesting point of comparison.
Despite a smaller budget TLMOE is my favorite version. Omega Man"s good. IAL was boring and sloppily made...the zombies were embarrassingly bad special effects.
TLMOE is almost exactly by the book. Really close adaptation.
Really really good. Great great sound. I always wondered how the woman who saved his life was able to drive onto the island and drive off the island when all of the bridges were out though...and her SUV was pristine. Great piece.
