We do use antes de que without changing the subject sometimes, like quisiera hacer esto antes de que me sea imposible for example

Thank you, Paul. I've been watching your videos pretty consistently since I stumbled upon them in April. You are a tremendous teacher, and my Spanish has improved greatly when trying to speak with other native Spanish speakers.
I got a slightly different response for the 1st "subject change" (Quiero sacar la basura antes de que mis hijos se vayan a la cama) since it's easier for me to remember now that I'm working to incorporate the verb IRSE into my everyday speech.

Excellent. Been confused since your lessons on Subjunctive. I made a funny mistake with a Lyft driver from Cuba. Instead of saying "Me encantaria ir a Havana", I said "Me encanta ir a Havana." I realized my mistake immediately as his eyes lit up in surprise, thinking I've been there lol. BTW I'd appreciate a lesson on the subtle difference between Poner and Meter, as I hear Meter a lot and have zero clue as to proper usage.Tx again.
I appreciate the super thanks! That's a good video topic idea. They are used in similar ways, meter is just more restrictive because it means to "to put in or inside".

It's a great book. It can seem overwhelming at first but I recommend just flipping through it and reading the headings. Things will jump out at you and you will clear up a lot of the questions you might have -- or even will have -- about the language.

Acabo de regresar de Málaga España donde me estaba podido solazar del mediterráneo y un castillo (Gibralfaro) construido por encima de una montaña que tuvimos que caminar. Me sorprendí supremamente hallar que la zona turística estaba abarrotada de extranjeros, ninguno de los cuales se molestaba en hablar una palabra de castellano ibérico. Para que se nos encontramos a los españoles teníamos que viajar al norte a un distrito se llamó Ciudad Jardín. Tenía un jardín al lado de una montaña entera con una pista serpenteando lado a lado todo arriba. Espero que los asuntos con la familia mejoren hasta la última vez que hablamos. Eres un caballero, muy noble por cuidarse a su viejos. Me estaba sentado bajo de auriculares y luego frente de un espejo ensayando por el viaje. Si tuviera que dar un consejo a los estudiantes antes de viajar a un país de destino para practicar español, diría: «¡Asegúrate de practicar hablando sin ningún papel ni pantalla delante de ti en un espejo y mover la boca!». ¡La sensación de no tener mis materiales de referencia fue como caer hacia atrás durante un día!».

It is very similar with the exception that the DE often disappears before QUE.
I thought después de que only triggered subjunctive if the main clause was future-ish or a command? If the Lawless Subjunctivisor doesn’t match common usage, I’ll be sad.

Would it be possible for you to give a lesson on the use of Haber? It seems to be mainly used in the past tense, but I'm sure there's more to it than that.
I can do something on haber. The usage changes from European to Latin American usage a bit. In the former, it is used to express actions recently occurring in the past, and in Latin America the preterite is used for that. In Latin America, HABER is used more like it would be in English.

I Should have/could have gone to the beach.
If I'm not mistaken it would be Deberia Haber ido a la playa or Podria Haber ido a la playa.
I have also seen this written as debi Haber rather than Deberia Haber.
Are both correct?

My questions to qroo Paul Is why he respondes to most PPL AND some with good questions get no response . Other than he Is busy . He has good content AND seems to make genuine effort to respond to most PPL. I have seen some influencers that start out responding AND them when thier platform grows they stop answering or only answer PPL who send contribuciones or something. I dont think Paul Is that guy . Not Yet anyways . Informative video as Is most cases .

Thanks. You said that if you can add “ing” to any verb and it sounds correct, then you have 1 subject or something similar, otherwise it has 2 subjects. How does that test work for the sentence, “I need to talk to you before you leave” and “I need to talk to you before I leave”? You do great work on your channel Qroo! Thanks again.
It does not work well for that type of sentence. That's when you'll just have to fall back on the subject change. I mention the ING thing because many viewers tell me that they have trouble determining a subject change. The ING thing can be a clue that there is not a subject change but it is not a hard and fast rule.

I love how im already able to make my self understood although tarzan be like :" tengo estudiar antes de ir con mi amigos " was not that far from the correct answer for less then a month of learning. Its those small achievements that makes me trilled to keep going.

I learned an exception to the participle creation rule this morning. Sometimes the "i" is dropped after "ñ". Example: gruñir -> gruñido but gruñendo.😮
Yes, there are a few spelling changes here and there with the gerundio.
This might be easier to understand when imagining the “ñ” like an “ny”: grunyir, grunyido, grunyendo (because of the following vowel) - grunyiendo wouldn’t make much sense phonetically. I love how pragmatical the adaptations are in Spanish writing to match practicability in pronunciation ☺️ there are quite a few examples btw

When I paused the video to attempt to translate one of the phrases I wrote down.. "Maria puso la ropa en la lavadora antes de prenderla".. is it ok to use "prender" in this scenario or does that sound funny? I've heard it used when referring to turning on the lights, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks:)
Yes, you can use prender. In fact, that's usually what I use.

Salir focuses on leaving a place. It often translates as "going out". Salimos a comer. We go out to eat. Salgo con Linda. I go out with Linda. IRSE is more like, leavin, heading out, heading to do something. Me voy - I'm leaving. Me voy para vacaciones. I'm leaving on vacation.

It is an accepted variation. It really depends on the area which one you are more likely to hear.

Lesson was clearlty presented, but I became confused when I saw this sentence
- "Do it before you go out" translated "Hazlo as antes de que te vayas". If this is correct, the command "do it" implies "you do it", so there in no subject change, yet subjunctive is used. Is there something else going on here, or should the Spanish sentence be "Hazlo antes de irte"?
The sentence should be hazlo antes de irte; however, you will still hear people use the subjunctive instead of the infinitive.
The translator DeepL is the most accurate that I have found. You can always plug sentences into it to see what it recommends: www.deepl.com/translator

Once again, you knocked it out of the park. Even native Spanish speakers can mix up when to use “de” vs “de que”, which is why the RAE has whole sections on “deísmo” and “dequeísmo” addressing the issue. (I’m referring to “de” vs “de que” use beyond “antes de” or “antes de que”, which I think is more straightforward.)
Yes, that is a topic of it's own. In my own Spanish, I use "antes de que" and "después que". That is a result of those being the most common in the areas where I have spoken Spanish.

I would watch your lessons a whole lot more if your lessons were in Spanish as opposed to English. Speaking slowly in Spanish would be much better than listening in English
The lessons I have done 100% in Spanish have never done as well. TH-cam is full of those folks. Viewers tell me that what sets me apart is my ability to explain Spanish in terms that English speakers can relate to. That's why I give the explanations in English.
