At the local auto parts store where I grew up, the blinker fluid was stocked near the left handed lug wrenches. That store also carried thermostats for the classic VW Beetles. 😅
Fiber metal welding rods, to weld wood to stainless steel.
I once sent an apprentice on a quest for the adapter to grease injector bearings. Talked to every journeyman then up to the owner on the sales floor.
I’m in my 60s and I haven’t heard anybody talked about blinker fluid since I was a teenager! Thanks for a good laugh. Nice trucks in the shop, too. Hope to see you guys at Louisville this year.
Upper radiator hoses for old VWs are still the hardest part to find...
In stock trim, that orange 589 sure reminds me of the old GMC General from the early 80's.
I had spinners on my 79 cabover peterbilt I redone and I had spoke wheels on the trailer that I pulled with it, and it was all color code to match I loved that unit
The flat top looks funny without exhaust stacks.
Some cream color strips on the orange 589 would be sick! Call it Orange Dream!
Bring back the 379 with a Cat 3406

In my opinion I think the 589 looks best with only lights up top. I can't wait to see one with 13 across the top!

That orange 589 would look awesome with stripe down the side and on the hood lights on the back of the sleeper I can't wait to seeit finished
Those rear hook ups look nice and are alright if you don’t hook and unhook a lot. Who wants to go under there in the winter or when its raining.
Jan 15 video the light blue truck with cab shocks under the truck with adding sleeper panel across the frame use a second one mounted to the frame just behind it to finish the look. This will cover spacing for the sleeper still floating. The builds Semi Casual do are awesome.
Orange truck is going to need stripes same as the brown wood grain interior, color and pattern, then offset outlined with gold pinstriping for sort of a shadow effect. Would look absolutely sick on that orange background. Maybe classic 70/80s pattern?
Could of course also do it flat black and either paint or black out all the chrome.
White and yellow... simple striping, different size and length, possibly overlaid... 🤔🤔🤔
...endless possibilities - all depends what you want with it.

Peterbilt has really made a mistake its really like a punch in the gut to the guys thats been loyal to them

On the yellow truck.. I would paint the roof and hood fenders, in that blue frame color. I think it would be perfect..!

The truck you mentioned with the spinners is still running the road and still has those on it. These on here are actually called floaters or what they are called in the dub rims.

My goodness, just when I thought that Peterbilt wasn’t competing with international, I was wrong again. The only difference between them is the hood. Good job pacar. But wait international is half the price! and look’s just as good. Uhh what to buy 🤔 neither of them I’ll stick to my 379 .

Brian you know what I would like to see is you doing a rendering and talking a little bit about what it takes to do one where you get your ideas from how long you've been doing them. Basically a video on your background in the trucking industry. If you would please. that would be pretty cool.
You definitely gonna have to replace the grill insert, it’s all dented up, somebody was pulling on it trying to make an extended hood out of it 😂

That orange 589 needs a mac spread axle end dump to match, plus half length fenders on the back.... desert tan pint stripe and Pete logos

I like the look of the hidden shocks and air bags but that’s going to very difficult to change a sleeper bag. Will you be able to change it without pulling the tank off?

Where are the stacks??? Since they have the same boxes under each door, the dummy stacks aren't necessary. Looking forward to this first 589 build! Hopefully most 589 builds have functional stacks. The 389 era is pretty much over! Bring on the 589!!!

Hey Brian..you skipped the cabover..update..?
I have a 98 Freightliner FLB. The headlights won't switch off. I pulled the switch and pulled out all the relays under the center cover on top of the center hump or dog house but they still wont shut off. Not sure where all the fuses are.

love the custom builds, i installed plenty of drop axles on new rigs as a dealer Tech. The Orange 589 would be a great set up like the green 589. does the Orange pete have the same axle rating as the green 589?

I don't like the way the air cleaners look and how the windshield curves but I like the rest of the 589, hopefully they will come with a split windshield just like Kenworth has
The 589 look like a 'hybrid', a modern cab used in a classic setup...don't quite fit especially well when thinking about the overall style. But, anyway, some will like it.
since the 589 cab is basically a 579, would accessories for the 579 fit a 589, visors, and cab and sleeper panels. since there is not anything out there yet.
im more impressed with that bus body peterbilt... thats insane... damn.

I’d never own a new Pete because I’ll never own a truck with all the emissions crap. Seeing the new 589 makes me glad I won’t be missing anything cool by not wanting a DEF truck.

I just can not get into the 589, Paccar really screwed up stopping the 389. I havn’t driven a 589 but ive driven a 2023 579 which seems to have the same interior and im not a fan at all

my son got a 2024 mid roof ext nose pete dark forest green with white stripes its a 18 speed biggest cummins one and its got 20000 on it got pulled off road.fuel milage whent from 10 to 8 and now its 3 empty so hes in hotel room something wrong with it

Looks like a 49x cab with a 389 short hood molded on. Cab looks cheap from the sides. Hope enough people like them so 389s don't stay high priced!
I just really wish all the 589 window lines were closer. The doors and windshield just stick out like an eye sore to me.

They stopped making 389s in December.

No,the one SH TUBE has isn't single frame & has cab & hood that's gonna be an SUPER RV
Also the one @ SH TUBE is an Entirely New Trk & the one @ Semi Casual is an used cab & hood for Mr Bill & Crew from Wisconsin
