For instance, if the BTS transmits with 4T and the UE receives with only 2R, the maximum supported rank in this scenario is 2. In the case of 64T64R from the BTS side, the maximum supported rank in either DL or UL will still be constrained by the maximum supported TXRX on the side (UE). However, there is a nuanced difference in the statement mentioning MU-MIMO. MU-MIMO is typically associated with lower-rank MIMO (e.g., 2x2 MIMO). In the case of Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), even if we assume that the maximum supported rank is 4, the gNB/eNB may downgrade the maximum rank to 1 or 2 to maximize the benefits of Multi-User MIMO. Hi Vipin; as i know and understand; you can mot see MU-MIMo from any signaling; the full control is at eNb side and there is no information need to be shared with the UE; when i did the test before for MuMimo i was only able to confirm this from throughput gain from field and checking related MU mimo counters from KPis
