If i never knew you french version is my favourite disney song because it means a lot for me because i live a long distance love relationship between france and US without to know if i will see him again someday. Its has been 10 years and i still love him

Yes they did indeed :) Their method was to have animators sketch the voice actors while they recorded their lines and incorporate tics into the character - Ariel has a habit of blowing her hair out of her eyes and that's something Jodi Benson did in the studio, likewise with Belle brushing her hair behind her ears. There's a Q&A where Irene talked about her family going to the premiere and pointing out all the things Pocahontas did that came from her. They did take inspiration from one of Pocahontas's descendants - Shirley "Little Dove" Custalow-McGowan and Naomi Campbell of all people - but she's mainly Irene
I still remember Roy's little commentary about this movie, before its premiere, which is on the "Snow White" VHS tape: "It's the story of a young native American woman, who fought against hatred, with the power of love." It's sweet to imagine how many wedding receptions "If I Never Knew You" has been played at, over these years. I hope to use it during my own, when I meet my soulmate, and I plan to incorporate wildflowers into my bouquet, as a nod to the character. Also, I was intrigued by Russell Means's activism. I read in an online article about the movie that he didn't care for the term "Native American", because he felt it was to broad. He felt that it referred to anyone and everyone, born in the United States. Due to that, he said that he preferred to say, "American Indian". (7/17/2024)
@Scottwilkie18 I've often wondered, if the people who made "Free Willy" ever approached him for the role of Randolph. As I much as I adore August Schellenberg's performance, I do think that Russell would've done very well in the part. (7/17/2024)
@@lukeyannuzzi7469 It's easy to recognize David's "Radcliffe" voice in other roles. He used it for the narrator in "Beauty and the Beast", the archdeacon in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", Jumba in "Lilo and Stitch", and the lead Russian gangster in "Jungle 2 Jungle". (7/17/2024)
I dont understand.. has no one read the real story of Pocahontas and what happened to her? why the glamourising of a tragedy? i thought they will point blank admit that they took inspo from a real person but no way was that a children' story or a disney one so they ficitionalised the rest, but no they just mention that they aged her up as the change to make it appropriate?
I remembered watching this movie in high school. But it isn't based on the real story of Pocohontas. It's fake but it's okay. My favorite song in the movie is Colors of the wind. I also remembered that this movie is in the program Once Upon a Studio.
Glen Keane created such an incredible character. It’s scary how far Disney has fallen in recent films. At he put it at 18:00 the sincerity is gone 😢
I think hearing the behind the scenes information helps makes things more sense.
he's a white male. he's not welcomed in modern, ironically even racist than 40s, Disney
Encantó is incredibly sincere. I dare you to watch it.
This level of genius no longer exists.
Yes, they do exist, you just have to know how to see them
very early role for Christian Bale so early he's not even mentioned lol
That's WILD lol

wow she even looks like Pocahontas.. i wonder if Disney rotoscoped her for the movie
Maybe Glen Keane used her as a reference when designing her character.

If this is made into a live action movie, I hope it’s done justice
Irene Bedard was good speaking voice of Pocahontas and hosts of this video.
