Great review. 👍 LMU ran decent on my 3080, but it would get really choppy/freeze then come back to normal mid race. I found in the lmu known issues notes that msi afterburner and riva statistics server may cause it so I closed them down and lmu ran perfectly fine after that. I did have few gripes though, session times wouldn’t change even though I changed it in the menu, it feels like there aren’t enough cars on the grid, especially gt3 cars, and the ai is kind of dopey. I had a gt3 car act all racey even when he had blue flags and I was overtaking in a lmdh… I’m hoping they get more cars in the coming weeks and fix some bugs but overall I’m happy!
Idk if we will get them anytime soon, but a 2024 content update with all the new LMH cars + GT3’s + Qatar and COTA is planned at some point, that will really flesh it out!
WEC tires are extremely hard and are designed to be quadruple stinted so I'd say them not having any grip for 3+ laps is accurate. Hypercar tire selection is also designed around track temps so you'll often see them running hards on left side and mediums on right side to help the right side tires heat up better on clockwise track and vice versa. I think Ferrari at Le Mans were running three hard compounds and one medium so the tire strategy is crazy in WEC. Hopefully they can sort out the bugs with the UI. I knew the UI would be my biggest concern coming off all of rF2's terrible UI designs.
It depends how you look at it really, in my experience RF2 has been super hit or miss on if it even functions correctly for me, when it does I’ve usually really enjoyed it, but so far for me even with more playtime, LMU Hasn’t had anything super critical happen
For me, after watching several materials about LMU, it's just rF2 with WEC DLC. And it's has got more problems than rF2 has. So, IMO, rF2 is a step(s) backwards. I've been using rF platform for over a dozen years (I've started with rF), also I've bought the lifetime access to online services for rF2 (who still remembers that in early years of rF2 a basic "game" was only offline?), and seeing what is happening with rF as a franchise is sad.
You are judging the game as it’s released. It’s early access. The game is not finished. I played 5 hours, and it’s fairly playable. Yes there are some issues like you mention. But please don’t juge it like it’s full release …
This is a game that was meant to launch fully next week. Don’t fall for their bullshit. This game is broken, and it was built on a 10 year old engine. Let’s see where they go from here. But all criticism is warranted. This is still being controlled by MSG.
It was originally supposed to be a full release but in the last few weeks they switched it to early access. The true reason why the game came out now is because MSG were scheduled to run out of money by the end of the month, so they needed this cash injection. I’m pretty hopeful for LMU and fully expect fixes to come, but I can only talk about the game as it is right now
@@JCRacing57 you are in the wong. Because motorsport games did shit in the past everything they are doing wong in your opinion is terrible. You have the best physics ever made in an official license game, we all should support that for the studio behind wich is studio 397.
Amazing review man
Thanks! :D
Awesome job on explaining everything.
Thanks man I’m glad it was helpful!

I'm always amazed how people who never drove a supermarket trolley defends the software developers even the bugs are quite clear.

ah i actually didnt know they could run diffrent compounds on each wheel. as for the UI, it seems pretty hit or miss
Tell me how many laps did you do on a hypercar to state the physics are OK. Stop the BS.
Ive tested it a few minutes ago, it feels really good, like Rfactor 2, but there are some issues....
RF2 DLC
A bit 😂
@@JCRacing57 I really wish they had spent the time fixing performance and graphics in RF2 but then they wouldn't have made any money doing that
So, once again, a disappointment. For me, MSG has done few steps back in comparision ro rF2.

@@LouisCocquet”best physics”, idk how you said that with a straight face.
