    Happy for you guys. I’ve never had any of those negative experiences you mentioned about Texas. I’m from Wisconsin and I’ve always had the best experiences here. I’ve lived in Frisco and Euless … Hope you find what you’re looking for. Denver is growing as well.

    Fellow Minnesotan, moved to Iowa, thinking about CO in a year. I was going to move to Dallas area and after spending 2 weeks in and all around the area I quickly realized Texas wasn't for me. I too like nature, cooler climate, and I can't see paying 3× the rent with the same wages as home. I just feel like the Midwest is best. I'd rather have money and travel than be broke to say I live in a city. Wish you all the best of luck!!

    I moved to Texas back in 2014 from Seattle, WA but also lived in Minnesota. I'm used to colder climates. I originally moved to Texas because my mom moved first and it was something different. There are pros and cons in every place but I definitely want to move out of Texas for some of the same reasons are reasons you both described and explained. I always suggest now wherever you visit, visit all four seasons and multiple times/longer periods of time. I think if I would've done that I probably would've never moved to Texas only stayed visiting.

    So sad to hear y'all are leaving! I too grew up in the midwest, OH-IO. I first moved to Texas 2 years ago and ended up in Wichita county. Talk about a slow lifestyle! But now I live in Galveston county. I also work in healthcare so living close to Houston has been a dream come true. Texas really has a lot to offer with different cultures in each region of the state, but in the end it all depends on what you're looking for, and it sounds like Texas isn't it. I am excited to seeing where your next journey leads!

    There are so many suburban outskirts in neighborhoods with houses with good piece of property attached and also townhomes too! It just depends where you look and which city in Texas like Dallas has a lot ! You probably would be more successful with help in the search like realtors

    I am sorry Texas was not a right fit for y’all at the moment, it’s not for everyone. Me personally I love Texas particularly Dallas because I was born in Georgia and love the southern hospitality and culture. Also love that in Texas , there is no state income tax, , cost of living is still reasonable compare to other places in the us , and real estate is another reason I would relocate to Texas in the future as well as being a business friendly state. I am in the healthcare field and found out that there are great opportunities for healthcare workers in Texas. Living in Minnesota for 7 years , I have came to realize that the cold weather and most of the not so welcoming people, taxes , cost of housing , makes me want to relocate in the future. Wish you guys well on moving to the city you guys want.

    I wish you the best in your search for your ideal place. In your proposal video ( I loved that-"you lied to me") you mentioned how much you loved Colorado.
    If you're looking for mountains, Washington State has the some of the most impressive. The North Cascades have the most glaciers of any mountains in the lower 48. It is also one of the largest wildernesses in the lower 48.The mountains in Colorado may be 12,000 ft +, but they start at 5,000ft. The North Cascades are around 9,000ft, but they start at sea level.The Olympics are also very impressive. I don't suggest you move there, just check them out.

    I've lived in Amarillo, Texas for nearly 30 years. After leaving the east coast, I must say I still absolutely love Texas. But, I totally agree with you guys regarding the safety part. In fact, here in Amarillo, I have witnessed a lot of sad changes (over the years) in terms of the uptick in crime, cost of living and a decline in the overall cleanliness of our city. ☹ However, because we're in the Panhandle (in the upper most part of Texas), the location is actually ideal to do many road trips (in waaay under 10 hours) to places like: New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, parts of Iowa, and even Nebraska. My daughter and I are queens of the open road!! 😍 -- we LOVE our road trips!! 🥰 I agree that Colorado is beautiful!! I especially loved Pueblo and Colorado Springs when I visited there last year. From here the drive into Pueblo was only 5 hours. Arizona would probably be the state I'd want to live in if I had to leave Texas. Anyway, I didn't mean to go on and on. 😅😅 I sincerely wish you guys all the best in whatever you choose! I'm sure wherever you land it'll be home -- because you have each other. ❤❤❤ That is a HUGE blessing. P.S.: (If you haven't already) you've GOT to visit the Palo Duro Canyon before you leave Texas. It is called the Grand Canyon of Texas and it's simply breathtaking. Take care!! ❤🙏🥰

    Texas is unbelievably boring. I’m from St.Louis originally and lived in California and have found Dallas to be by far the most boring and it’s very slow paced to me to the point I can’t stand it. Can’t wait to get out and can’t figure out why anyone would ever choose to live here. It offers nothing at all that every other state doesn’t offer. There’s nothing unique at all here. Take this as a message to truly research where you move everyone else and you will find there are far better places.

    Good video - funny story but my girlfriend and I are actually moving to Austin from South Florida for a few of the reasons you’re leaving Texas. I’m paying $1800 for a 1 bedroom over here, and found a great 2 bedroom there for $1600. Plus I saw a bunch of nature over there - they have rivers, mountain biking opportunities, campsites, and more over there. My girl and I want to do the road-trips too but ours will be into Mexico. I hear you on your reasoning to move though, good luck on the next step!

    • @destinyandmitch
      @destinyandmitch  ปีที่แล้ว

      We totally get this!! We escaped MN for TX bc of several of those reasons. However, apt prices have skyrocketed here over the years. They're pretty much the same as they are in MN and CO now. Austin is much better for nature so that's something we missed by choosing the Dallas area, but we absolutely love Austin (it would've been more our style) so good choice 👍🏼

    Oh my lol. You guys moved to the worst part of Texas (Dallas) lol. I bet you would feel differently if you lived in Austin or San Antonio. I actually moved FROM Colorado to Texas last year. I always encourage people to travel and live in places that call to them. But lemme tell y'all LOL-I met so many people in Colorado on drugs, and for ME, a person who can make friends instantly all over the world, it was hard to make solid friendships the 5 years I was in Colorado (Denver specifically). I knew many people who only lasted a few years there unfortunately before moving on. And unless you plan on living in the eastern plains, the rent for a house or apartment is going to be high. The food there is terrible too for the most part haha. However the mountains are beautiful and so therapeutic, and i did some EPIC roadtripping during the pandemic-just a few hours away in any direction from Denver and you will see some beautiful things!
    It's so funny and very interesting to see how different places speak to different people....I went to high school and college in Dallas/Fort Worth and I got outta there as I could-it's a horrible, shallow place so I mos def understand y'all's experience haha. But moving to a new place is exciting and you owe it to yourselves to get in where you fit in. Best of luck on your decision and I'm excited to follow along on your journey! And if you do decide on Colorado, don't say someone didn't warn you about the food haha

    • @destinyandmitch

      We actually LOVE San Antonio and Austin and had ideas to move to each one, but it's still the same story - really big, really fast, and far away from the travels we want to do. I think we realized we still enjoy our roots but still want to try new areas and see new things.

    I think when we invision ourselves living places we do alot by what we see on TV or the internet or by visiting a short period of time and the reality of living there isn't the same feeling we thought sometimes. I always thought I would love New York as a teenager and young adult based off a trip, I took to Manhattan my senior year in high school being from the south we want something different sometimes but after working near there for a few months, I realized that would not work for me to fast the people aren't the friendliest to much congestion. I think Colorado will definitely suite you're family coming from where you're from you would like Colorado, Utah,Montana or even Wyoming where nature is beautiful and more of a laid back vibe.

    • @destinyandmitch
      @destinyandmitch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that's 100% accurate. Even visiting the areas can leave questions unanswered (we visited TX many times before moving). You really have to just experience living there for a bit to realize what you like.

  • @alankhan9784
    @alankhan9784 ปีที่แล้ว

    But in Colorado u can't go out and sit for more than 15 minutes during winter months. I would take summers over long winters. Dallas is absolutely beautiful and nice. And the air you smell in dallas is not like Sulphur but actually it's the natures smell like fresh pine. Overall Dallas in 50% better than Colorado. In Colorado there are beautiful mountains but who wants to deal with snow n winter for 7-8 months.

    Well hopefully all will work out, you are young and need to keep figuring it out, just going to say, Destiny is very attractive and Mitch is also, someone is always going to be looking, for the right reasons or not....no matter where you go....unless, you build a cabin in the woods an NEVER come to the city.....but, do try to find a church some where and prayerfully fit in....you need all kinds of friends, but you most certainly need Godly friends that cover you/and your marriage....read up on that....but, again, live life as you should, it is short....find your niche.....stay prayed up in ALL that you do....Seriously.....

      True, like we said it's just amplified here cause there's so many people. I agree with what you're saying about G-dly friends, we just don't go to Church or synagogue

    Colorado sounds like a great place to move

  • @musicvixen78
    @musicvixen78 ปีที่แล้ว

    I will say I am not surprised you guys are moving and I knew it would be to Colorado.
    I will admit that Texas has never truly felt like home to me either and I've been here since 08. But I think also if you are in a place and family isn't truly working out for you and you haven't found friends it can be exceptionally hard.
    And that sucks you guys haven't felt safe. I'm in the Aubrey area and things have gotten less safe out this way.
    Even once you guys leave I will continue to watch you guys, I just won't know the places you go to anymore. You guys do you and make yourselves happy!

      I think not having a community here has made us feel pretty isolated. We wish it felt like home to us, but it just doesn’t & that’s ok! Thanks for watching & supporting 💛

      @@destinyandmitch I 100% understand. I live with family and very often feel that lose of community and support. Sometimes family is best with distance! And finding a place where people feel like your specific people is a beautiful thing.

    Oh yes the gun shots. I am only back from CA for a month and I already noticed. I didn’t like CA though …but I am looking for something similar but not CA. I moved to Austin bc I thought was more moderate but in my opinion its not. Its still conservative. I really want something where all year round I can go hiking and do outdoor activities. And I don’t think its very safe for women..womens rights and open carry gun. I think I also feel like there is suttle racism. My fiance is white and I noticed people are nicer to him than me. I am mixed race. I think Dallas and Houston are the worst though, physically very ugly boring cities. I don’t hate Texas either but im not in love with it either.

    Colorado is a lot more expensive than Texas, but being in a interracial couple is a lot more tolerated. It's just a good place all around, hope you guys enjoy it.

      Yeah the income tax alone makes it a hard move!! And thankfully we've never felt discrimination while living here, but definitely feel more at home in CO

    • @vsTantastic
      @vsTantastic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @zanz beats As w/me & also my friend too has an interracial marriage in TX & have nvr felt discrimination there. She misses Arizona tho. Different is normal these days & instead of labeling everything that way, I teach my kids that, if u r ‘classy’, as Destiny is, then, negativity may really be envy… jealousy. It’s reality.

      North of Dallas. We've been all around TX, had serious ideas of moving to San Antonio or Austin, but have seen enough to know we need something slower and closer to the travels we want to do.

    Thank you for your videos. Still praying for you everyday.
    We can't find hope and peace in this world but there is one that can give us true hope and peace.
    Because he Loved us: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    Because of his Grace: Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    Because of Hope: Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
