    Honestly, I'm very interested in being a director, but how do I start? I can write the script by myself and soon I will have photography classes which I hope will teach me how to do beautiful visuals.
    But where do I get the actors from? Where do I get all the expensive equipment from? When I've finished a movie, what do I do with it?
    Also I'm kinda shy (I'm working on that) and a small girl, how do I get people to listen to me?

    • @sammulrooney1686
      @sammulrooney1686 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say start off small, doing short films and improving your craft, looking over them and see what you could improve, if you want actors I would suggest your friends can help you out, for equipment start off with a camera (not so expensive) and editing software (videos on TH-cam that can teach you how to use it) and slowly build up from there, post your short films on here if you wanted, so people are seeing them (if not that many but some people are) if you have a job save up for better equipment etc to improve the quality of your short films until you feel confident enough to make a feature film :D

    • @victoriansquirrel
      @victoriansquirrel 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Triple Digit Productions Thank you! I'm already thinking about investing in my very own camera (because it will be useful in photography lessons too). Now the only problem are actors, my friends are either camera-shy or just not very gifted actors. But I'm sure I'm gonna find someone. :D

    • @sammulrooney1686
      @sammulrooney1686 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you could do abstract type of films where there's just weird visuals that make the audience either go wtf or make them think about what they've just seen XD

      lace x ribbon I want to make movies as well but right now, I feel the best thing to do is just make as much stuff as possible, no matter how much it sucks. Just make short clips with basic plots. You don't need to show them to anyone, just get them made. Eventually, you'll be a pro.

    Over and over, you see filmmakers from Edgar Wright to Quentin Tarantino to freaking Mike Stoklasa (Red Letter Media) acknowledging that formalized film instruction is useful, but degrees themselves from film schools are not. I never understood why many artists were so interested in "art schools" in general; to me, the arts seem like the career *least* suited for university education. STEM, education, health, economics, etc. sure, but not the arts!
