- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Not going to lie, for all the years ive been watching your videos... i've been waiting for you to yank at something and fall in and you took it like a champ and a true sport and didnt complain!
I suppose it was inevitable that a stick/branch/small log would snap or he would lose his grip on a slimy one sending him back on his but in the water.
I read your comment before seeing the video and was expecting a full body immersion. Just glad he didn't land on a sharp log and get hurt.

I too was wondering when and if you would ever fall ass-backward into the water. Your reaction was priceless and true to your character. I personally would have clogged the culvert with all matter of profanity, flatulence, and gastrointestinal elimination. You stayed focus on your mission and got the job done. Keep up the good work and great content.
Can we all just take a moment to acknowledge this guy's strength. Waterlogged logs are not light.
But they are not THAT heavy that a normal man will not be able to pick them up.

A good pruning saw would help. Not for the big logs, but for anything less than 4" in diameter.

@@Tazerboy_10 I wear chest waders but wear a strong elastic strap around the top to keep it tight. Fell once, and my shirt only got wet about an inch or two under the waders. But yeah, wearing them with no strap is like wearing a parachute during a hurricane.
This is got to be the largest log jam I've seen yet on this channel.

Any logs and brush that I can get on shore I do. Sending them through just creates another mess I dont want to unclog again. Grass, yes. Trees....I dont have the energy to do it twice.

Post 10, let me make a couple of suggestions that will improve your success and reduce the Heaven lifting. 1. Remove the debris, especially logs, from the top first. That way you can free up the bottom logs and debris on the bottom and save your back. 2. Get a small chain saw and cut down the larger logs to manageable size. Your waisting time and energy trying to manually remove unmovable objects. Love your videos and keep up the good work, just make your job easier.

This logjam reminds me of an old game/toy I had as a kid, called "pick up sticks" (note: still available new!) where you dropped a number of colorful sticks in a tight pile and the goal was to remove sticks without making any stick other than the one you were touching move at all.
Except that the game/toy did not have a torrent of water pushing the sticks together, and the sticks were smooth instead of festooned (fun word!) with branches.

There is no truly easy way to pull apart a logjam, though some ways may be easier than others. Dynamite comes to mind...

Chainsaw is probably a bit much, but a folding pruning saw would take care of a lot of stuff while being a lot lighter and easier to operate.

Yes ticks mostly
The moose looks like that because it's losing its winter coat. It may have ticks, but the reason it's scratching is to remove all that hot hair.

@@russellevans2446 moose are very dangerous don’t mess with them , they will attack . The further north you go the larger they get Alaskan moose can be 1200 kg . If you hit one with your vehicle you’ll destroy it and lots of people are killed that way 👍🇨🇦

I love this channel. I've been watching for a couple of years. When one comes up with a big jam like this I head off to bed and settle in for the night to watch on my Echo Show. I always end up binge watching till 4am then crashing.
Time to invest in a heavy machinery.
I honestly think that would just take the fun out of it for me. I enjoy doing everything by hand with minimal tools

Today it was raining so I decided to go out and look at the storm drains in my neighborhood. None were clogged but I’m going to pay attention to them from now on.

It’s so weird to see snow on the ground this late in the year I only say that because where I am it rarely snows most of the time we don’t even see more than an inch but in early February across 4-5 days we had about 13 inches not all at once but total

This is a bit further north than Toronto and far less paved roads and buildings that conduct heat
Now you have to go to the other side and clear what you threw into the culvert.

That was really impressive. I didn't think you'd remove as much as you did. I was waiting for you to remove the log sticking into the outlet and kinda disappointed when you didn't but maybe, like you say, the next blast will remove the collected debris. I admire your dedication to only using your hands and a rake but sometimes I wish you'd buy a saw to do the stuff like the long skinny log you couldn't remove. Anyway, thanks for another vid.

Looks like you could have really used a saw here! Cutting those up into manageable bite-sized pieces would have save a lot of tugging on heavy trees!

I've seen multiple clips where a chainsaw would be very helpful . A battery powered one would do the job . Anyways I thought I'd share my thoughts .
I DON'T UNDERSTAND why you don't bring a saw for long, hard-to-lift logs.
Everyone: "Haha! You fall down!" Also everyone: "You should have a chainsaw or some other super sharp power tool running while you're potentially falling down!"
Am I the only one who thinks a power saw of any type would NOT be a good idea doing a job where the footing is not secure?

i was watching you try to pull a small stick out from under one of the larger log, and i thought to myself "he's going to scratch his hand, or slip on osmthing or-" and at that moment the stick snapped and you fell into the water. i have to say post, you don't make comedy content, but somtimes your content has better comedic timing than half the people claiming to be comedians

😂😂😂😂 I had to lmfao when you got your backside soaked, it's not every day that our hero gets his butt wet and this one was hilarious 😂😂😂 you just keep using your hip huggers to avoid getting into a fast moving culvert, don't want you to be found a few miles down stream dead because you were wearing the bib style waders, a suggestion if I may, go to a linesman supply and get a rope comalong and a 150 foot rope, you tie one end of the rope to the larger logs and the other end into the rope comalong tied to a solid tree and pull the logs out completely, saves your back and very easy to use, it can also be used for other stuff including getting your highlander out of a deep ditch or off of Ice/mud, and it doesn't take up a lot of room in a vehicle, or you can use the rope and come along to move trees out of the road, this is just an idea for you to think about, you'll also need a 2 inch wide strap about 10 feet long with a loop on each end to go around the tree to hook the comalong to, to save the tree you're using to pull the logs out of the water, thanks for listening to my idea Post 10 and Hi Ghost 👻 10
