I purposely saved this to watch today bc I knew it would be so fun, Ty for such an informative, yet also entertaining share! Mercy sakes alive, how you’ve grown and relaxed in your video’s, and it’s heartwarming to see you and Theo together and having a blast!💥 So much great information and tips, it makes me wanna get in the car and drive to Salton Sea @ 2pm on a Friday, hahaha. I can imagine a bunch of us heading to Glass Butte and having the time of our lives’! Ty, ty for the time and effort you put into this one (and always), so grateful 🙏🔆

I'm jealous that you have spots like that to look and find Obsidian. With that said, it looks like you and Theo had a great time searching/finding those pieces. What I would like to know is.. were you able to fix your torn backpack?

Hey Kyle. My husband and I were just at Glass Butte 2 days ago. We picked up a lot of surface stuff in different locations, but we actually dug in the borealis pit. It took us 2 hours to dig up a huge obsidian, but we still haven't washed off any of our finds to see what's inside...maybe this weekend.
    Thanks for sharing the video.

How can you tell the difference between borealis obsidian, and rainbow obsidian? Can you make a video of the differences between the two?

I remember crawling into a lava tube up in the lava fields up the old Mckenzie hwy 242 and i remember the walls looked like they were covered in silver. I wonder if it was this type of obsidian and i just thought it was silver lol

there is a lichen that looks silver in those caves :D
if it was a cave near where i was at it might have been..
i never found any really big caves and after finding a few scary looking thing like scorpions and horror inducing spiders.. no more caves...
if there is a big one id love to go back and go in lol

Yeah that piece does resemble a shark shape but I think an obsidian cat would look awesome.

I love the lizard footage! You actually found some beautiful pieces of borealis and that layered silver sheen is phenomenal! That borealis is so pretty too! So is there rainbow out there too? And how do find the area of each kinds? I would love to collect some rainbow and some borealis! So how do you tell the difference between the two? And i know the silver sheen and the mahogany is really common out there. The gold sheen is less common and the rainbow and borealis even less common still. And of course the fire is really rare and most of it is under claims! If you do find any fire, be very quiet and don't say anything to anyone while you are there ir it will all be under claims! But glass butte is a large area, so how do you know where to dig to find the type if obsidian that you arw looking for? I know you and theo did pretty good for just digging around. And he was seriously digging for pieces to take back to montana, that were big enough for him to do something with! And that could be anything for him! But i dont want to have to dig for a couple hours just to find out that all the pieces i found were all mahogany or worse, all plain black obsidian. I lived on Mt Tabor in Portland for almost 59 years and none of the houses in our neighborhood could gave vasemenrs because it was all kava rock, basalt and obsidian underneath the houses. I used to pull out huge pieces of obsidian when i landscaped our yard vut ut was all, the plain black kind of obsidian. There was no inclusians, that the obsidian at glass butte has. but there was a lot of plain black obsidian! Tons of it! It never occured to me that it could have colora like the stuff at glass butte has! And thank you for bringing back some pieces for your giveaways. That us awesome! Just watching you in your shop, there was so much merchadise in the background that i would live to have, but i can no longer afford because of my rent! And it makes me so sad! But your kives are too much of a temptation for me to handle! Sorry! I lirk occassionally and then i have to turn it off when something i want is shown! Life just isnt fair! But i have to be responsible now! 😢 lol! Take care and Rock on!

That one piece kinda has the general shape of Bruce the 12 step Great White Shark in Finding Nemo. I think you could definitely carve a good Bruce out of that one, mate. 🐨
