    OK, i've said this before and i'll say it again. This band is the only blues band on the scene that brings something new to the table. Marcus is the long awaited guitar hero of our generation.

      After the deaths in the Allman Brothers Marcus was a nice welcome reward when Southern Music took a hit.

    What would the purists’ say. A young man playing all over the place with so much class, confidence and passion. Keep on doing what you do so, so well.

    This is so bad ass! As great as their usual stuff is, I wouldn’t mind more of these jazz inspired charts. Solos were killer and the band sounds great in this context.

    IT was bitter sweet seeing MK at the CMA awards. big kudos for someone bringing him in. That top 40 country music is soooo bad today and MK is soooo far above that level. Rock on man. That bunch doesn't deserve You, Billy or Tyler.

      I hear ya Michael! I am old school guitarist and followed the the Grateful Dead in the early 80s til I had to grow up and get a job haha. But I've always been into Zep blues based and delved more into jazz rock ala Allman Bros.,Santana and saw some Gov't Mule Warren Haynes stuff. And of course Hendrix SRV but I'm SO glad to see this music on You-Tube and they're young! Good music is good music PERIOD.
      I also dig on Jack White cause he represents old school mixed with NOW.

    • @RDC98TDI
      @RDC98TDI 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man they really do kill it from the major Allman Brothers sound, hints of the more country side like Marshall Tucker Band, then you get jams like this with some Steely Dan and Chick Corea vibes. Some of the songs on his album with the song "Radio Soldier" even have a little Beatles feel to them! Of course he can shred and swing with the best blues players and jazz artists. I'd love to see his band team up with Billy Strings! Talk about a battle of the virtuosos!

    Jaysus f Christ, this is SO much 'more' than Blues. Not that that's a 'good' or 'bad' thing. It's just so refreshing. I think this represents 'progress', albeit on the shoulders of forebear-giants.

    Best new band to come around in years! They’re so damn good, I think they can go a long way toward filling the gaping chasm left by the sad, yet inevitable, demise of the Allman Brothers Band. These guys are worthy to carry that torch, if you ask me. R.I.P., Gregg and bravo, Markus & Co.

    For the 8 people that gave the thumbs down. And really for anyone else that does. You don't like real music. You have no soul. Sometimes you just shut up and play.

    Pertaining to the comparison of Allman Brothers. Not that Dickie wasn't a good guitar player, but Marcus studied jazz and that really sets him apart from the southern rock style of Dickie. The cool part is Marcus has a few more genres of music up his sleeve. I'm really diggin his ability to leaving us waiting for " whats he gonna do next" because it's all good stuff.

    Not my line but worth repeating - Marcus lives in Blues Town but with a Jazz river running through it. As to what other band is fusing so many genres - Tedeschi Trucks Band goes awfully close. Final thing - even some elements of Santana rhythm and lead at times. Me likey too!!!!!!

    I can’t wait for Marcus to get a little older and get some more control on his playing! He’s really good, but I enjoy more constraint like a Kirk Fletcher, or something more like Robin Ford. I know this is more jazz, so Pat Metheny would be a suitable person to make note of, or some old Montgomery would do it! Just a little more constraint. Maybe it’s the way these other guys use comp chords to push the solo along and the delivery of it. Can’t explain it, although I’m a huge fan of what’s happening here and only criticizing because of the love I have for true music like this.

    • @joeking9061
      @joeking9061 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He might be a bluesman but he does have a formal training in Jazz theory. So dont be surprise in some of his solos he will turn on the switch and be in the Jazz mode!
