Look who is engaged in treating stammering these days, your own experience alone is not enough to give any kind of speech training. Any kind of speech related treatment requires proper certification and registration of 4-5 years because without knowing our body, understand the speech organs. It is probably not right to work on people's speech without doing any course.
There is something called REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE , which is way beyond than those courses & useless certifications.
A person who has a real experience of curing his problem, can give you way most GUARANTEED and PRACTICAL ways to cure your problem than the person who has just finished a course and having No idea how an actual stammering problem feels in mind.
I believe that only a stammer can understand the feelings of a stammerer But this alone is not enough for the treatment of a stammering person because the problem of every patient is different and for that, proper audiology, psychology, speech pathology information is required. It is very important to have. If all medical treatments start being done by patients then there will be no need for a Dr. degree.The patient is in danger if he starts doing surgery, medication & all treatment. The right then would be one who is an ex-stammerer and has proper knowledge of speech pathology.
Let us understand this through an example that if we are a patient of fever then for treatment we should go to a patient who has fever or go to a medical shop Or you should consult a doctor because there are many reason of getting fever. He will narrate his experience to a fever patient and give his medication which is not correct.
You should research before having doubt on our expertise on stammering. Suggest you to check testimonials, books, app.
