Ok - little clarification here, Tahiti is just ONE (1) island of more than one-hundred islands that make up French Polynesia... and at least one of those islands is sure to show up on your luxury travel bucket list. But, you definitely don't need to look elsewhere if you aren't on a honeymoon budget. So let's try out Polynesia two ways: ballin' out on Bora Bora (Four Seasons, baby) and budget travel on the Island of Tahiti.

Awesome video. In my case I do not particularly like hot weather unless I am in the water. The water looks great in Bora-Bora! Mind you the water looks great at 15 minutes from where I live. I guess I am too easy and contempt with what I have. Thank you for sharing that nice video.
How much was the boat to go out to teahupoo? Teahupoo is one of my dream spots.
It’s a barter! We paid about ten bucks (USD) per person, likely lower for locals. But... helped that I could negotiate in French. Either way the experience was totally worth it, even if the really huge waves weren’t firing.
Has Tahiti and Moorea opened back up since their shutdown again with the covid Delta variant? My husband and I were there June 2018. SOOO ready to visit again!

Yes, in Pape’ete it was a very short walk from Mahana Lodge Hostel to Place Vai’ete (“roulotte” food trucks) and the Pape’ete daily market. Enjoy! Let me know how it goes!

I'm Belgian, would it be doable to start over my life in Tahiti? I feel suffocated in Europa and I just want to move somewhere tropical with good purchasing power and job opportunity. I've heard bad things on Bora Bora, Tahiti and Bali. Like many touristic places, it is said there is a lot of hidden poverty and crime. But then again I see this in any European city too. On the surface, everything is shiney and clean, but take a wrong street and it's hellhole. Then I'd rather be in a hellhole that has sunshine and frangipani necklaces.
