PA student here! Maybe look into PMDD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder kinda sounds like that but definitely consult your doctor!! Just know that it’s super common and nothing to be ashamed of! You’re amazing Jes and you won’t feel like this forever❤❤

Your monologue in a bathroom is so relatable! I have mood swings sometimes too and I can be very demanding towards my hubby during these times.. once they pass i feel like an absolute a$$hole, but he still is the one apologising. Gotta cherish those guys more ❤️

I appreciate you talking about this so much having gone through depressed times in my early twenties. I hope better days are ahead Jess 🫶🏼 Your TH-cam has got me through my own sad times and I am so thankful to have you to watch, look up to and be inspired by. Don’t be hard on yourself mama! You’re doing great and I’m so glad you opened up and spoke about being hormonal. I got on birth control after my baby. I get this feeling certain weeks where I get super snappy and grouchy and then the next week I’m crying about everything.

Thank you for being honest and for sharing! Just know you’re not alone. I’ve felt the same way the last couple of months with my periods and idk what’s wrong. Every month leading up to my period I feel just defeated, sad, tired, and really just in a dark place. Please keep us updated (if you’re willing to share of course) if you find some relief or get any suggestions from a doctor! I don’t even know where to start but I’m so sick of feeling like this every month 😢

I have PMDD and I experience exactly what you described, it only started happening for me after I stopped taking the pill! It's like PMS x10000 I swear. I used to think what the heck is wrong with me but knowing I have PMDD, I can pinpoint my moods better, but I still feel stuck in a funk. I find that HIIT workouts and running has tremendously helped my moods. My doctor recommended going back on the pill to help regulate my emotions but I declined for personal reasons. It sucks living with this, but I am finding natural ways to feel better in my cycle.

I appreciate you for speaking on this and sharing your experiences. We’re in this together! I know I hold myself to such a high standard in every aspect and role in my life and I know you do the same. Some days need to be filled with grace and patience with ourselves. ❤

I’m a therapist and I’m not saying you have this but it might be worth asking your doctor! There’s something called PMDD that a LOT of women experience around their period. And yeah one week a month doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but it’s literally 1/4 of your life.

I'm so sorry you've been struggling! You are not alone, and it's nice to hear you open up about it. I don't have kids yet but those hormonal waves hit me pretty hard around my period too. I've had quite a bit of trauma in my life and for some reason I get triggered WAY too easy during that time and all the sudden I'm spiraling. It's really hard to overcome and be around my partner because I feel like the worst human. good times. Struggles of being a woman I guess. sending love your way!

I relate to this so much, thank you. Since having my son in 2017 my period and hormones have been completely different. Similar to yours, the first few were normal seeming, but now its like severe mood changes and feelings of depression. I wish I could go get my hormone levels checked, but I'll have to take the steps for my insurance to cover that. I know I speak for all of your youtube family when I say we understand and are here for you.

Jess thank you for sharing this. I came off birth control this year and I didn’t have any crazy new symptoms at first. Now 10 months later I’m experiencing feeling so low and irritable way more than I ever have, I feel like someone takes over my body it’s a battle to understand it’s not actually how I’m feeling about my life or my partner. Makes me sad so many others seems to share similar feelings but now I feel less alone so thank you 🤍

Hey girl! I am a holistic health and wellness coach and I specialize in womens hormones because I went through the exact same thing and after years of drs and prescriptions, I was finally able to get some relief.
Cut out all processed sugar, be careful of your body products and makeup, the majority contain major endocrine disruptors which in turn mess up your hormones. Candles are big culprits as well :(.
Everything youre describing is very common.....but it is not normal. Let me know if you have any questions!
I have been able to get off of all medications and I no longer have Hashimotos, PCOS, am no longer prediabetic, and am no longer anemic. Ive helped other women do the same. :)

Hey Jess love your content I meant to comment this on the video where u mentioned it but I totally agree with your outlook on sharing Skye I think where the issues come is more so for content where children are the main focus/bring in the money to support the family and are constantly being filmed in moments that should be private. More so like family channels meanwhile we just get glimpses of skye in your life. Also I appreciate how honest you are with how you feel and what you’re going through. I’ve been going through something too similarly not only do I get the same symptoms as you but I feel extreme exhaustion.

I was diagnosed with PMDD in 2017 and the symptoms I was experiencing were very similar to what she's experiencing. I was prescribed a few medications throughout the years but each of them had their own side effects that I didn't want to continue dealing with on top of the PMDD itself. I wanted to go a more "natural" route and found the Flo brand pms gummies and also cut out caffine. I use these and also take another mood support vitamin and when i'm actually a week away from my cycle. So far this has given me great results.

I know everyone is different so just sharing my experience. But I have noticed the type of BC I am on heavily impacts how I am feeling. I actually feel better when I am on a specific type. I take an antidepressant as well but have noticed it works even better when I take a specific BC. I understand not wanting to take meds or even BC especially if you’re trying to have another baby. But just thought I would share that sometimes working with a doctor to find the right BC can help those few days a month because they really do add up and you deserve to not have to feel that way! Thanks for sharing your experience with us

Hey Jess! So cute when you were talking about thrive I literally saw sky! I always thought she looks like Brent but she looks identical to you omg!!!!
Also! Totally normal to have eating phases! I’ve Babysat for a girl who has never liked chicken! It’s just not her thing, she likes other things but has never liked it . I don’t give it to her anymor. You can always sprinkle cheese over the broccoli or one thing this family and I are doing to help their one and half year old get all their food categories in is put a banana (something they love) on the fork along with broccoli maybe not their favorite thing and they eat it!!! Not exactly the same thing because I did not give birth, I had a miscarriage. But, I went through a period that I was EXTREMELY sad about 10-12 days prior to starting my period. Very similar to how you are describing. I would recommend having your hormones checked just to be sure it’s not something with that. I did not have any hormone imbalance (thankfully). I started speaking with a counselor and it really helped get to the bottom of it. Hope you also get to the bottom of your situation because it is no fun. ❤

Hi I’m not a doctor, but I have been dealing with hormonal issues surrounding my period that we’re sparked AFTER I started birth control (capitalization for emphasis only lol). I could be biased because of the horrors I had after 1 year of the pill (which includ among other things random episodes of anxiety and uncontrollable tears🙃), but if your mood swings happened after the pill and your still on it, you should read this book called the period repair manual. Based on what I learned in that book and from doctors, birth control doesn’t “fix your period, it only causes you to have a withdrawal bleed from the drug. Technically your period is still out of wack due to some hormonal imbalance that is not being fixed. I’m currently working with a functional medicine doctor who is helping me balance my hormones instead of masking my symptoms. Like I said though I’m not a doctor, but just some food for thought I figured I’d share to help you.

That is exactly how I felt! Your hormones are not in balance. I had my daughter last October and went on birth control immediately & it affected my hormones so much I was a complete different person how you say but a lot more often! I took the bc implant out and my body and hormones and everything went back to normal. I struggled a lot had crazy anxiety but so glad that’s done. Never again. I definitely think you’re not in balance but it can be fixed. ❤

Okay first off don’t worry your not crazy I promise just remember your all around a wonderful person in every aspect!! Second your not alone when I say I literally went through the same exact thing after my first daughter from the postpartum to once I started getting my period again that’s when mine started I literally felt like a psycho I can’t even describe how I felt but it was absolutely aweful but it will get better def talk to your Gyno about it though that’s what I did and since I eventually was put back on birth control they ended up taking me off a hormonal birth control and put on a no hormone one and that seemed to really help a lot. Idk if your on a hormonal one but either way def talk to your Gyno and they will help you figure it out also I got diagnosed when I was younger with pmdd and I thought it faded as the tears went on but that also could be it as well so def just talk to your dr about it all ohh and las thing counseling also helped as well .. but your not alone mama and don’t worry it will get better and keep doing what your doing your doing an absolute fabulous job !!! Xoxox feel better !!!

I'm no expert here so please do your own research and talk to a specialist. I'm trying to convince so I'm looking at my hormone levels and tons of other things. It may be a good idea to see your Gynaecologist and check your hormone levels and thyroid. I know we can naturally align our levels with the foods we eat (e.g., avoid too much processed foods, too much refined sugar, dairy products - because hormoes can be added to milk and cheese, etc.). Very interesting stuff.

You may be dealing with a hormonal imbalance - maybe find a functional doctor or order a test to see where your hormones are at.. you aren’t crazy, nor is it something you have to except and deal with - you know when your body is off and trust when I say you can heal within- you may need more omega-3 fatty acids in your diet and making small changes to your meals to support your glucose levels, adding in fiber- have a meal before your coffee, get sun, get grounded, and yes learn the 4 cycles of your menstrual and how to support your body in each cycle

I just had my daughter last month and i struggle with regular depression, but after giving birth I felt a sadness and despair I’ve never felt before and just like you said my life was fine and I loved my baby so much but I could not shake it. I would feel so panicked and miserable when I was alone, especially when my husband left for work. Luckily it’s gone away quite a bit but it was horrible and you explained how I felt to a T. Thank you for talking about it! I relate so much. One thing I think that helped me was taking magnesium and omega 3’s, like good quality brands . 🤍
