    I just heard the Phillies have lost Harper to a pulled Hammy, and Schwarber to a pulled groin. Let's see how the Phils handle a little adversity with their great starting pitching.

    I would like to see more of Short in short. At least he has good at bats and gets on base.
    Yesterday, after Wall, a great base stealer and our fastest player, lead off with a bunt single, and neither Duvall nor Arcia took a single pitch. They swung at everything.

    I’m from Louisville, I have a UofL baseball tattoo, I played softball with his older brother. I’ve known him since he was in high school. But Duvall just can’t hit right now. He’s the bad ozuna and has been for awhile. He needs to be strictly a short end platoon guy at this point. Maybe we need to go Uber athletic in the of and give Eli white, and Forrest wall in the corners a shot. I’m sure snit will let him ride it out and we will turn it around but man I’m ready to see something change. All of that said Marcells ball should have gone out and we win.

    At this point, I think that the Braves not going to the All-Star Game is a good thing. Of course I would prefer that they were playing good enough to be All-Stars, but given our reality, I think our offense NEEDs this break to try to reset and adjust for the 2nd half and the postseason. Especially given the fact that this lineup regulars don't take days off, and can't take days off.

    Question for all of the guys on here? If you were to go down our regular everyone healthy lineup how many guys would say that their offensive weakness is too much swing and miss?? To me it is everyone. We have not one single hit over power, put the ball in play, control the zone, control the bat guy. It’s our organizational philosophy to chase power and launch and if baseballs don’t fly we are looking towards a long summer at the plate.

    • @LockedOnBraves
      @LockedOnBraves  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. This lineup was built to do one thing great, and that's hit home runs. Now that home runs have been nerfed, it's a real issue.

  • @riggler2
    @riggler2 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I don't know why Braves fan seem to love Snit so much. I really don't. He's make changes at a turtle pace. He doesn't really go to bat for his players against umpires. He keeps players in the lineup through massive slumps. This whole let's not blame coaches and managers, it's the players who have to perform. Sure, but when their not performing, Snit's not letting them ride pine. Duvall should not be in the lineup. DFA him. His MLB career is over. The entire fan base was like, put Kelnic in the leadoff spot, yet Snit platoons Arcia and Harris, which was a disaster he refused to change a failing experiment until Harris got hurt. I think Snit is a horrible manager that's been lucky enough to manage a team put together by one of the best GM's in baseball history.

    I do not understand why Snitker chose to let Duvall start in this game over Laureano... Laureano as you said has been solid since coming up... So why would you sit someone who has been crushing the ball with a top 5-10 worst hitter in all of baseball? I genuinely think if Laureano would have started we would have won that game today

    • @MassBoost
      @MassBoost 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, Laureano should have been playing since the Braves were facing a right hander who Duvall has been terrible against. But Laureano has at least put up a .347 xwOBA against right hander, which is good metricly, even though his results haven't been great in this short stint.

    Braves ranks for barreled balls. #30 in all 4 metrics.
    BA-xBA -.129
    OBP -xOPB -.140
    SLG-xSLG -.527
    wOBA-xwOBA -.261
    The Braves would rank #3 in BA, #2 OBP, #6 in SLG, and #6 in wOBA if the results matched the expected stats. I do think it's interesting how much it's impacting the Braves compared to the rest of the league. Even if we sort it by solid contact and barrels the Braves are still bottom 5. You can say "change your approach" but baseball is hard and they are crushing the ball. As a hitter, you want to hit the ball hard and the Braves are doing that.
    As for Laureano vs Wall... So, let's check the numbers. VS RPH pitching in 2024:
    Adam Duvall: BA 0.76, xBA .140, OBP .105, xOBP .167, SLG .087, xSLG .268, wOBA .091, xwOBA .189.
    R. Laureano: BA .174, xBA .268, OBP .174, xOBP .268, SLG .261, xSLG .555, wOBA .187, xwOBA .347.
    Forrest Wall: BA .308, xBA .230, OBA .400, xOBP .333, SLG .308, xSLG .335, wOBA .329, xwOBA .302.
    As we all know, Duvall cannot hit RHP. He was brought in to play against lefties who he absolutely destroys so this is no secret. So really it's Laureano vs Wall.
    Ramon has 23 ABs vs RHP and Wall has 13. So very, very small sample sizes here. That being said, Wall has outplayed Laureano thus far. Ramon has been pretty bad against RHP. Could be a bit of bad luck as his expected stats show but still pretty bad.

      Alex invests in players the team needs. If it’s a star then he will but it would take selling the whole street to get some names and a lot of teams are in contention so they don’t want to sell at this time. AA is the most prolific GM in baseball without him no Sale, no López, no Jarred Kelenic, No Olson, no Murphy, no Iggy, no Pierce Johnson, no Joe Jimenez. Heck the 21 season ended the way it did because of him. Firing him would be the single dumbest thing you could do. The last few games Ozzie, Matt, and Marcel have cooled off and it’s showing in the past couple games. You can’t throw in the towel. Don’t let 2 not great games ruin a lot of good progress. Over the past 12-13 games they’ve scored 6+ runs in 7 games. They constantly work at making adjustments and bettering themselves and surely they will be doing that after tonight.
