Day 4, Walking from Rates to Barcelos

This is a longer video as added some information about road walking safety.
Honestly, it stressed me out & at the 10km point, where the staff at the cafe said it was 2km more of road walking, I called a taxi. It isn’t so much walking along a road or asphalt, it is not having sidewalks & large trucks & tractors coming by every minute.
Big shout-out & huge thank you to Luciana from Brazil who had the forethought to turn back to give me a hand today. Water stretched across the road & the only way past it was to jump up on a stone wall that lined the road. She helped me up, held my hand as we scooted along & we jumped down together. If she hadn’t been there, I really don’t know what I would have done. This wasn’t just a mud puddle, it was almost a lake!
Taxi dropped me off at the medieval bridge in Barcelos & I got to explore the town while also making my way to my lodgings, Casa da Rosa. Ended up with about 15km for the day.
