Good reaction. Bloodywood (the name is a play on Bollywood) are Indian, from New Delhi. BABYMETAL are so versatile they seem to be able to collaborate with or guest on songs by pretty much anybody. BABYMETAL makes everything better.
In this case, although it was BABYMETAL who approached Bloodywood, they had already written the song with BABYMETAL in mind (both bands are fans of the other).
- The anime was made by an Indian animation company for the MV - credits are in the description.
- There are 3 languages in this song. Bloodywood sang in Hindi, rapped in English. BABYMETAL sang in Japanese and Su-metal's last few lines were in Hindi.
- The traditional instrument that you thought might be an electronically produced sound was the Indian instrument called a santoor where the strings are struck with wooden mallets - you may be more familiar with the dulcimer which I think is similar.
Karan Katyar from Bloodywood (I think he is the guitarist and main composer) has posted a very interesting video explaining the songwriting and production processes for this song.
Thanks for letting me know what that sound was. Great song and ironic how the collab came about.
Bloodywood started writing a song, thinking of Babymetal style. Then Babymetal contacted them to see if they could make a collab ... good timing.
As usual, the clear voices of Babymetal bring a good contrast with the lower voices of Bloodywood.
Add a good message about fighting one's own fears, references to pop culture, Indian culture and Japanese culture in the video, you end up with a really good tri-lingual song.
🦊🤘
Great comments thanks.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 In 2019, BABYMETAL released a captivating song entitled "Shanti Shanti Shanti. BABYMETAL took a risk of being called "fake" or "cheap copy" of Indian music whereas they simply wanted to create their own metal music with comfortable Indian vibes paying their due respect to the culture. Team BABYMETAL must have made diligent efforts to analyze, study and understand music and dance moves in Indian style. "Shanti Shanti Shanti" turned out to be a song accepted by fans with Indian background in a favorable way.
Then their efforts have ended up with this “genuine collaboration” and BABYMETAL is now officially endorsed and acknowledged by the new Indian music pioneers. This proves BM’s righteousness about what they have been relentlessly pursuing, diversity.
I am now looking forward to seeing how these two bands look like on the same stage with choreo. Further, I am already keen to see what comes next.
You got me curious now too.
Nice reaction..
An amazing collab, combining three languages.
It's an awesome collaboration for sure!
👍👍Awesome collaboration and performance. Instrumental🔥, vocal🔥, the anime was the pièce de résistance🤗. Great reaction. 🦊 🖖❤
Thanks! It was so fun to watch.
You mentioned they play tight together and complimented the drummer. Karan (in the video with the short mohawk style hair) played all the instruments, programmed the drums and wrote the instrumental. The singers of both bands wrote the lyrics and melodies together. They also have touring members which appear in some of the videos. Karan also directs most of their videos and is an all around great guy. Cool reaction!
Great reaction and review! This son is absolutely amazing, and I love its message.
Hope to see more Babymetal on your channel!
🤘🦊
the Kyoto like instrument you mention, is actually from a Indian classical instrument called Santoor, both are kinda similar string instruments, Bloodywood do use some Santoor tunes in some of their music
Right hemisphere, but not Mongolian. Bloodywood are from New Dehli, India. Looks like this song is part of their 3rd album, Nu Dehli, which is due out in March.
I've heard the title track to this new record and that's about it so far for me. Like this one more.
I figured it wasn’t but it had that vibe to it. Thanks Chris!
Karan Kattiyar of Bloodywood has a making of video on his personal YT channel that goes into how he put the song together.
Appreciate this reaction very much! This track was written with BABYMETAL in mind as a collaborator. Because of that, it has core elements of Bloodywood in it, but is a bit different from their other tracks. I highly recommend you continue down the Bloodywood journey. The combination of their metal sound with traditional Indian instrumentation and vocalization is amazing. Bloodywood just released a new track called Tadka off their upcoming second album that drops on March 21st under Fearless Records. They have really continued to refine their sound and improve their production chops since their first album Rakshak. Regardless of that, the Rakshak album is full of great tracks that I highly recommend you check out as well. All three singles from the upcoming album, which includes Tadka, Bekhauf (this song), and Nu Delhi are all bangers. I hope you decide to revisit them again soon. ✌🏼🖖🏼🤘🏼(peace, live long and prosper, rock on)
Thanks for the suggestion and comments.
If you what to see how BEKHAUF was produced here is a BTS of BEKHAUF . th-cam.com/video/3Knd7y_1EgY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CeAsrTzohPDiwRhO
Thanks Robert!
ha, you beat me to it. I love that breakdown, it's such a great look at the process

I like the ruff voice is good but not throat singing. Like the gruff singing much better and I don’t believe I could hum the melody 🎵!
I have to say I’ve never watched a full anime, probably only a short clip or two. Not familiar with Bloodywood, and although I don’t mind growling/gruff, just not the entire time he sings. It does lead to the refreshing singing by BabyMetal. Overall the song was pretty well done instrumentally but Bloodywood, for me, greatly reduced the potential enjoyment, but that’s just me.
I enjoyed the Babymetal part alittle more too but overall it was a good one.
Not an anime, animation done by Indian company 1:22
