Wonderful video, thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed learning about Simon Lycett - his life and experiences and background - so very inspiring. I had the good fortune to be able to participate in one of Sarah Campbell's Floral workshops before she participated in the first season of the Big Flower Fight. I sweet talked (coerced ) another Peony Farmer to travel to Homer, Alaska with me to expand our skills. What an experience we had - incredible new skills we acquired. Anyway many of the things Simon mentioned I have experienced with flowers (namely peonies). I absolutely Love to do large scale installations and have done two flower dresses. The first one I did didn't turn out as I expected, but I made it work and the second one was exactly what I envisioned. And this second attempt I had the two young women who had been working for me on the farm help stuff the wire cage with peonies and then take turns modeling the finished result. Another friend of theirs and a photographer friend also helped and took pictures. This experience is something I continue to reminisce about today - the sheer Joy, delight, giggles and unbounded happiness filled the air with the most amazing energy. Oh and then when Kendra got into the peony skirt something else happened. It was Magical. Operating a peony farm in Alaska is a lot of work and I am really more of a farmer than a florist. But having thousands of peonies at my disposal (as they don't all sell) gives me opportunities to have some fun and take a few others along for the ride. This is so very long, but thanks for letting me share some memories.
Love Simon. Love his work! Loved his course, so inspiring and I learnt heaps. I could watch and listen to Simon for hours! 🌹🌺🌷
