Idk why, but I can kinda understand how moeum's mom felt earlier. Maybe it's because I'm also from an asian family 😅
In our country, even dating during school years are kinda not allowed...its not like a rule or something, but I'm pretty sure most of the parents don't approve.
So I feel like her mom was kinda worried about how the society would view moeum if she's with danho and whether she would be able to handle that or some things like that.

most asian will understand her mom perspective, asian mom neighborhood always had something bad to say to people and her mom just worried about people talking bad about mo eum, their love journey will be even harder from normal couple and worried if she cant handle all that bad thing

I think the parents are going to be happy for them. But at the same time mad because now the 2 “ex” friends are now a big family

I said before and I said it again. He looks at things from western perspective and western values and western lenses, which means something so obvious to Asian people is lost to him
Raising someone else kids is always hard. Life is not a Disney movie where everyone is just accepting and tolerant.
Extreme tolerance itself is something that should not be encouraged.
Maybe that is the difference in perspective. the reactors is projecting as the main characters and the side characters. But I see the mon perspective.
It is not so easy to be so cool and tolerant when it is about your children. Most mothers wanted what is best for their kids.
This theme runs in Seok Ryu mother also. What they wanted might not make their children happy, but it is the best according to their thinkings.
Lashing out is not the answer. The way Mo eum handle it is better because she knows her mother and be straight with her while respecting her mother thoughts while at the same time slowly persuading her mother

Your reactions always shock me because i realise how cultural differences can affect how someone looks at a situation from their perspective, and i respect it, but its just amusing? I think most of the asians will understand both mothers' "disapproval situation", like at 12:25 it does make sense because she likes him as a person as seokryu's friend and her friends son NOT as a life oartner of her daughter which is anotherrrr thing and moeum mom is worried about what the people will think how can she marry someone with a child when she's never had a child how can she manage them/herself.... and let me tell you, "What will others think?" Play a VERYYY big role in this type of situations

dude it's not just Korea in our culture too a single (vergin) shouldn't get married to someone divorced or widower unless there's something wrong with her. it's stupid. but I get what the writer did. it's common in many countries.
and you'll that in many kdramas

Well, I feel sorry for the people who have to raise other people’s children. You can call it close minded but just like you feel it’s unfair, people can feel it’s also unfair for others experiencing it. I guess it’s a clash of different cultures. Being open minded is understanding different cultures. What you understand or like doesn’t have to be the same for everyone.
