  • Some friday fun watching water boil on the Trangia 27 HA with Tenol as fuel.
With water at 17 C and outside temperature of 19 C.
20 ml (18 g) Tenol will boil 600 ml water with ease with the Trangia 27 HA and the Trangia burner.
This means that if you boil 600 ml water 3x per day. 300 ml Tenol will last you 5 days.
Trangia offers a 300 ml, 500 ml and a 1l fuel bottle which is perfect for the job.

Is Tenol a brand or a type of alternate fuel?

It is a type of fuel from a Swedish fuel manufacturer.

@@MorganSundqvist oh good to know. As for trangia efficiency, I love how reliable it is in the cold and wind, but in winter I normally purify my water by boiling rather than risk freezing my water filter, and it really seems to drink through fuel doing that. I haven’t bought the billy can yet because it seems that having the pot supports in the “up” position where there’s more space between flame and pot base drastically reduce efficiency as the flame as access to much more oxygen.

Yeah it's a big difference when it's a couple of Celsius degrees below zero.
Have you seen the new pot from Trangia?
Trangia Micro. I have the old version with the same windscreen. That one is not at all as efficient as the Trangia 27

@@MorganSundqvist no I haven’t seen that, though I have seen that attempts to save weight on a trangia system seem to result in sub par fuel usage and/or wind resistance. If I’m trying to go as light as possible I just reach for my small upright canister stove or I cook on a fire
