Yes they go well together. I, however, don’t like dark stains at all. I much prefer an oak-colored stain.

Pearls. Every little black dress (or pantsuit) needs a strand of pearls. (I love your analogy - because you are so right about those pulls turning the mundane into the classy.)

Not sure how any one else feels but watching these videos is so relaxing and grounding for me. I think it's because of Angie's attention to details and the almost spa like background music.
This was a bold choice for this piece. Idk that I could've been so brave. Well done and someone will be getting a ome of a kind piece as are all of Angie's wonderful transitions.

What draws me to your videos is your willingness to share your thought processes and your experimentation while restoring a piece. I have unsubscribed from so many who just preach at me. You instead show me what choices you consider and how you reach a final choice. I really find this piece very attractive. I have no doubt you can get a high money return on this piece. Extremely well done Angie!!

Angie, you can feel really good about taking the extra time for the details, like finishing the back panel, as you do. What might seem obsessive in one context is a distinguishing attention to detail here, which is part of what sets you apart from the rest of the flippers and refinishers. Congrats on another beautiful rescue! Between rescuing bunnies and vintage furniture, you are making a nice dent in changing the world.

I love how you like to involve your audience with your thought processes on how to approach each piece. I would've been reluctant to test a stain on any part of the actual furniture, but your logic and knowing the final outcome you wanted made perfect sense, and when those of us are still learning how to approach our own pieces of furniture we want to restore, it's a relief to get those more detailed explanations of how and why.
Nacho is the cutest!! I love his inquisitive face.
    I love your work Angie!!!

I will admit that when you were using different options on the legs I wasn’t feeling the black. But, when you started staining the body and drawers I was definitely with you. It’s so nice to see another sad piece saved and given new life. Great job, Angie! Tell Nacho his supervision was top notch!

  • @CroneLife1

Love how you measure twice and sometimes three times before drilling the holes for the new handles. That's real care in your craft. In the past, I viewed mid-century pieces as throw-away cheap things not worth the trouble to save. But your attention to your craft, and your vision, have shown me a new way of seeing what they really were and what they can still be. The ability to educate in that way takes you from craftsperson to artisan. I believe that life-long learning is the key to a rich existence; and I am grateful to all my teachers. You are very appreciated.

The end result is definitely the look of a high end piece of furniture. As always, your work is meticulously and beautifully done. Always appreciate you "defending" these composite pieces, because so many people are dismissive of them and they tend to look so dated and unattractive in their original finish. They're not solid wood but as you pointed out, they often fare better over time than all wood pieces. And you make them all look beautiful. Well done!

It occurred to me to tell you that I like that you do voice over, rather than live sound. I watch a lot of woodworking and restoration videos. And too often I almost have to mute them rather than listen to the sound of a saw or sander. Who needs that? Well done!

Aw thank you! I know there are lots of channels with tool sounds- my weird sensory issues prevent me from truly enjoying them when the sound levels aren’t mixed well. I don’t even like the sound of sanders and saws in my own workroom (I wear ear muffs, lol) let alone to purposely watch it in videos, lol. If the levels are mixed well though, it’s not as bad. :-)

Nacho -- what a great name for an orange tabby. Love cats to bits and especially their "nosey" nature. They have to know everything you do or they are not happy!.
I'm lucky I found your channel. I've been "refurbishing" old discarded pieces since my teen years but your level of knowledge is every impressive and it shows in your work. Even though I won't be doing any restoring in the future, I especially sat up and took notice of your ingenious methods. Thank you for sharing.

This turned out fantastic. I love the 'glow' the drawers have, just gives that extra touch of elegance that sets the entire piece off. Great job as always!

That's unrecognisable. What a great transformation and once again you have saved the life of something most people would take to the tip.

Another homerun Angie! My 23 year old daughter is moving into her own apartment and she is taking some pieces I have refinished as well as "ordering" some I have stored in the barn loft. Spent part of this beautiful May day painting a bookcase black to match her decor. Next up is a lovely Victorian side table that I am refinishing the top and little shelf and painting the legs black for her living room. Just glad she likes antiques to give her apartment some class.
